Penny Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 I've had my 1.4 petrol desire for 3 months now. When I first had it, I'm convinced that it had a MPG indicator on the display (it was reading 47.5!) Feeling clever, I played with all the buttons and it disappeared! Now I can't find any mention of it in the handbook and I'm wondering if I imagined it (not surprising really). Can anyone help me? Did I have a display or not? If I did, how do I get it back? Many thanksPenny Quote
kfk Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 have a look to see if you have a button on the end of the wiper stalk. Quote
connellyg Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 yeah im wondering this as well.. the only buttons on the end of my stalk are audio controlers... Quote
stimulator Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 If your stalk is split into two halves at the end it will control the audio and change the central display. The half of the stalk furthest away from you, it's also slightly longer, changes the volume up and down. If held pressed in the centre it will mute the audio output. The half of the stalk nearest to youchanges the station or if on CD the track. If the end is pressed in momentarily it will cycle thru the computer readouts on the centre pod screen. If held pressed for 3 secs or more it will reset the computer readings. The readouts our DATE, distance to empty tank, distance since last reset, MPG, instant mpg (shows --- when car is stationary) and average mph since last reset.Note this will be in litres and KM if your computer is set to KM. This done by pressing the PAGE button which will allow you into the settings step thru this and use the tick button to make changes. Quote
kfk Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 And the other question i would ask is this: Have you ever had a problem with your indicators or wipers....did they replace the switch assy under the steering wheel.....if so its possible they've fitted the wrong one (assuming it worked before). The switch gear with computor has a 'O' on the end of the button you press. Quote
iannez Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 if its only 3 months old it will be full can. is it not changed with radio like c4. Quote
Penny Posted November 4, 2006 Author Posted November 4, 2006 You were absolutely right - it was the control at the end of the stalk (the audio button). Incidently, I didn't realise what the audio button did either until you said. Am discovering new things about the car all the time! Thank for your help Quote
stimulator Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 penny, try reading the manuals that came with the car, there should be two, one about the car and one about the radio.;) Quote
stimulator Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 strange it posted twice ignore this one Quote
Penny Posted November 7, 2006 Author Posted November 7, 2006 Yes, but it's much more fun playing with all the buttons! :P Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 The New style C3 Trip Computers arn't not so good like on the old style C3. I have driven my brothers C3 like I do with mine as they are both 1.6i 16v Exclusive Sensodrive but his is the newer shape well I did a same route in my car one day I was averaging betwen 40 - 45mpg. Did the same trip in my brothers it said I was doing between 25mpg - 32mpg. I swear I drove both cars the same. Even my brother said that my car is better on petrol. And I reset both computers before I started a journey. Even the Salesman at my local dealer said that your trip computer and fuel guadge is simple compare to your brothers. Like the Fuel guadge is 5 bars simple. So why the hell put so many bars on the new guadge. Like with my guadge I can tell what I have done to a quater of a tank. I get 120 miles to a quater in my C3. My brother do put in £10 every other day in his C3. We do roughly the same mileage a week and I do put in £13 a week. The Service Manager told me these New Style C3s have had more problems than the old ones. He said there is too cramed into the computer in the new one. I wouldn't change mine. Quote
