BugEye Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 (edited) Hi All, I am currently the owner of a Saxo (my first car) which I've owned for too long probably. Anyway as there are no new saxos I've been looking at something different. Perhaps a DS3? My budget is £8,000 and I'd like something with a bit more kick to it than my Saxo. I've been looking at this: DS3 not sure if the Diesel version is better? Or even if a completely different model. I am looking for something not to much bigger than the DS3. Thanks!!! Johndouglas Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Hello & welcome to the forum. How long is too long that you've owned your Saxo ^_^? I have a 1998 diesel model which I've had for 17 years. I like it; it's simple and cheap to maintain; it's been faultless and it's just passed its MOT. But I admit - it's no rocket................. The C3 series would be a good replacement however, unless you do a lot of mileage, I would give the diesel versions a miss. Diesel engines are much more sophisticated than they used to be and unless they frequently reach their operating temperature over a distance, they are prone to expensive faults. Quote
