wuforn Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Hi, I am looking for a bit of advice, I have just bought a 2009 Citroën c4 1.6hdi air dream hatch back which has only come with one key. The key that is supplied works the remote locking etc. I would like to get a spare key that will open the door and start the engine but not bothered about the remote locking side of things. Having spoke to some friends, I have had conflicting information below: - 1) Take current key to auto locksmith and they will clone it. 2) You can only get a spare key from a Citroen dealer. Am I able to just get my current key "cloned" or do I have to get a new one direct from Citroen? Secondly, the car came with service history i.e. stamped service book but no receipts so I am unsure of whether the timing belt has been changed. I want to get the timing belt and water pump changed, what would I expect to pay at an independent garage? My local garage quoted me £ 280 but he also quoted me at the same time £ 280 for a 2009 1.1 fiat panda which I know can be done for under £ 200 he didn't even go away to work out a price just quoted the 2 figures out of thin air when I asked for a price. So any guide price you can give me will be most welcome. Thanks Lee Quote
coastline taxis Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 If you have the key code then just go to the dealers for the key. Will cost u around £30/ As for timing belt then £280 is a very fair price Quote
