billynibbles Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I've raised this before and got conflicting answers. Some say that 'Citroen told me that Xenon headlamps don't need adjusting' as they don't bias to the left. However, despite extremely accurate cut-off, my lights definitely do flick-up to the left to light the left kerb. I can prove this by looking at the pattern they form on my garage door. With clear lens covers, it's difficult to see how they could be masked for use in France without constantly being flashed. My first thought is to switch off the steerable aspect in the menu, so that when I do work out where a mask needs to be put, it won't keep altering. Then I need to use some opaque tape to find out where the flick-up's cut-off point comes. Is this my only way forward, other than incurring the wrath of gallic motorists? Do any continental drivers bother masking their lights when they come to Britain I ask myself? Quote
xavtia Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I've just been to France and although I dont have the Xenon headlights I got the eurolite converters that tell you exactly how to convert the headlights for both headlights available on the C4 there is a diagram for each version in the instructions to help you convert them correctly. iannez Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 i know the c5's with xenons flick up to the left but dont know about the c4's. none of them are old enough for mot yet. Quote
Johndouglas Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I have a C5 with xenons and last winter I drove to Southern Spain, a lot of the journey being overnight. Although I didn't use masks (Citroen UK told me I didn't need them) I didn't get flashed once. From previous experience in a xantia, I know French HGV drivers give you the works if you blind them. xavtia Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 the citroen dealers recommend headlight protectors with built in converters and having seen a British C4 exclusive on the car park at the cite du Europe in Calais I can understand why, the protector was upside down . I used the eurolites one as said previously because it was an impromptu visit,if i was planning to go again I'd get the headlight protectors, having seen the price of new headlights worth the extra protection. Wouldn't like to feel the wrath of a French trucker if my headlights weren't right. Quote
GRUMPY Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I checked my xenon headlights on a beam setter today. I found that the "flick-up" is a lot smaller than I have found with standard headlamps. Quote
