Hello there, anyone had or got this problem please.  Got a Xsara, registration date 2008.  The back courtesy light in the roof suddenly comes on when driving.

It goes out when you turn the car off but I am concerned as to why this might be.  Its just started doing this.   Front courtesy light is OK and is behaving normally.

According to the wiring diagram it goes to a Module which activates the dimming control.   However, it is only the one light at the back that is giving me a problem.    Can't find the Module, is it in the fuse box?

Anyone got any guidance please.    I would appreciate it.   If all else fails I can take the bulb out but I would rather find out what the problem is in case its anything more serious.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi

If you look at this diagram          http://geekgreek.com/downloads/Citroen%20Xsara%20I%20-%20Wiring%20Diagram.pdf

of a typical xsara wiring, page 8 item 80, you will see that it is linked to the luggage compartment (boot) switch (item 79) for the boot light. I am uncertain if there is a switch in the boot or not but worth checking that switch as you have to assume that an open switch in the boot will also energise the rear courtesy light.

It could be that your boot light is also on but not as noticeable as you have the boot closed

cheers

Thank you both for your input.  Today not an ideal day to check!!!  But will do hopefully later or tomorrow.   I will come back to the forum to advise.   I never thought about the boot.   Thanks again and keep safe.
