Mike5483 Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 I went to Brighton yesterday with my GF yesterday, did a grand total of 176 miles. Got back to her place and had some dinner, then watched TV for a bit then left. Went out to the car, pushed the unlock button... Nothing. Pushed it again and nothing again. Opened it manually from the passenger door and got in, went to start and it turned over but would not fire, the display showing 'Anti Theft Immobiliser Fault' Tried twice more and same thing. Went back in, rang my dad to run my spare key out to me. I thought I'd try again whilst waiting. Went out, pushed the unlock button, it opened, got in and it started first time fine!!! Must have been some interferance from something or the baattery is going. Quote
iannez Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 sound like a bug. most probs reset once bsi had shut down again. Quote
lee_marshuk Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Wasn't this fixed in a recall months ago? I remember asking about it, and being told there was a bug with the immobiliser system that could prevent you from opening the car or starting the engine? Quote
Mike5483 Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 Is that so... I might ask about that this week then. Im going down to book it in for some work to be done anyway. Thanks for the heads up on that Lee. Quote
kfk Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 When you book it in ask if they have changed your COM2000 as this was subject to a recall on certain models. If the fault should occur again it might be worth aquainting yourself with the Shunt fuse in the glove box fuse box (its got SH on it or HS depending on which way up it is). If the fuse is removed for a few seconds and refitted it may overcome the problem.....you will have to change the instrument settings to english afterwards, but better than the inconvenience of a non runner. Mike5483 Posted November 13, 2006 Author Posted November 13, 2006 Thanks KFK, excellent stuff as always!!! Quote
Mike5483 Posted November 14, 2006 Author Posted November 14, 2006 Well, ive booked it in. They are having it for 2, possibly 3 days and I have been given a Noddy, sorry, C1 courtesy car. I asked about the Com2000 and they said my car shouldn't have been affected, but they will have a look. Anyway, hopefully it will all be sorted out then. Quote
kfk Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Dunno why people think the C1 should be the butt of jokes......dont have as many problems as C4's! Quote
Mike5483 Posted November 14, 2006 Author Posted November 14, 2006 Im quite looking forward to driving it actually. I like driving different cars. I like the back of the C1, the front is not too nice but, who really cares. Im looking forward to see if they sort my problems out. I dealt with a different guy to normal and he seemed a lot more interested in listening to what i had to say. Anyway, heres hoping. Quote
wozza Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Dunno why people think the C1 should be the butt of jokes......dont have as many problems as C4's! Thats cause theres less to go wrong. Like my Clio poverty spec'd nothing to go wrong lol. Really would not mind having a go of 1 though. Quote
kfk Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Poverty spec'd?......you mean it has the essentials for someone driving down the shops. To much value is put in vehicle specs......after all, look at the posts on here, if its got it someones got a problem with it, or they dont know how to operate it, or cant get it fixed......now somewhere along the line i thought people wanted trouble free motoring......so why buy the gizmo's to go wrong?.....yes they look good, but they all add to the cost and in reality dont add that much to the value of the car when you sell it second hand. So for me the C1 represents good value, currently i'm driving a berlingo multispace diesel......hasnt got the street cred of other cars but is comfortable with a decent driving position, excelent visibility all round, economical.....and plays CD's. I like practicle.....but then i have to fix your problems, i dont need my own. Quote
wozza Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 See i had to pay to get a Cd player in my Clio as an extra or you got 2 speakers and a tape deck. The only luxury it had was electric windows. Everything else was manual. to get the sunroof open properly you actually had to take it off. But i loved my little Clio was my first car i got to drive the golf i had before that i could not drive due to illness so i had to get rid of it. Could not drive when i first got the Clio but i learned to drive in it. Quote
