My 11 year old diesel C5 passed its test no problem yesterday.

I wonder where it will be next year?

Scrapped, banned, in landfill?

Anybody got a strategy for migrating to petrol, or electric? Whatever happened to LPG, the most economical way to fuel a car?

We live in turbulent times. When you look at the smog in London now, and realise that children can no longer use school playgrounds because of the pollution, diesel definitely has to go...

I never liked it anyway. Bring back petrol, maybe a new compression ignition version is being developed? Heard that somewhere..

Based on VW, I think we can safely assume the tests have been cheated on.

Real world emissions from Euro 6 engines are probably 10 times the legal limit , maybe more...

I have trouble taking any notice of pollution level problems caused by cars. Sorry, but I recently read that passenger aircraft (not including the military who are by far the largest polluters) drop something in the region of 750,000 tons of carbon every year.

I note all of the attendee's at the world pollution meetings get their by flying and by being dropped to and from the airport by large limousines. I see large auto manufacturers such as VW taking a verbal bashing for getting caught and being fined a sum of money which may hurt the workforce but surely wont even be noticed by the shareholders.

I see governments, like ours, spending trillions on nuclear armaments to be used as a last resort before they completely destroy all life on the planet and then telling us we have to curtail our pollution. The Yanks blowing the tops off the Appalachian Mountains to get at the coal beneath them, China building one coal fired power station (the equivalent of Drax) every month and yet the motorists are being led to believe that it is we who must change to stop the majority of pollution.

I mean no disrespect to anyone but for me, the pollution fiasco is exactly that.
