I would be gratefull if somebody could answer the following questions for me,

1. How many DS 23 and DS23 efi were produced?
2. What where the fuel consumption figures given at the time
3. what type of Construction where used for the Chassis and Bodywork

regards

I suspect that fuel consumption figures never existed in the days of the DS23 - they are a "Modern" EEC thing. However, if you click on the UK brochure 1970's for the DS, there is a mention of DIN fuel consumption figures - my PC's screen is not good enough to enable me to read them! Body construction is unitary/Monocoque with panels bolted on, or welded.

Not exactly.

The body is base-unit and non-stressed panels. None of the body panels are welded on, and the base-unit's strength lies mainly in its chassis rails. The term 'monocoque' is often used for the D, but the roof rails have very little strength in them, so it's not REALLY monocoque. The other car which shares this construction is the Rover P6 (2000 and 3500 series etc) the designers of which openly acknowledge their analysis of a D in their workshops at Solihull.
