c14vts Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 interesting wozza will know im sure........... Hello by the way  Quote
welshys90 Posted November 20, 2006 Author Posted November 20, 2006 hey, quite probably wozza knows most things welshys90 Quote
wozza Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Depends on the engine you have. Some of them are a little bit of a pain to remap. Get in touch with angel tuning though and ask one of the guys there. Helpful guys and are usually willing to help also offer a refund if you dont think the map did anything to the car. They will also come to you to map the car at work or home. http://www.angeltuning.co.uk/ Quote
C4VTS Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I think if you have a Siemens ECU on your 2.0 HDi there is currently no solution apart from the add on tuning boxes. Quote
lee_marshuk Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 They can do Siemens ECUs now, but not instantly it normally involves a trip to their warehouse. Quote
CoolCarbon Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Check out their site here... http://www.angeltuning.co.uk/ They claim an extra 35 BHP....sounds good... Quote
Stuey Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 it seems really expensive to me...£500 for 30bhp... Quote

CoolCarbon Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 it seems really expensive to me...£500 for 30bhp... Angel Tunning quote £350 for an extra 35 BHP.... 1.6 hdi (110) .. £10 per Pony doesn't seem that off the wall.. Same price for the hdi (90)... It doesn't say anywhere that you need a CDA too... http://www.angeltuning.co.uk/pdfs/engine/Citroen.pdf Another site... http://dieseltuner.co.uk/citroen_diesel_tuning.html Quote
Stuey Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 the petrol remap is about £500, £350 isnt to bad really Quote
wozza Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Mate £295 for the remap including there travel to you etc on the petrol engines. £500 if you want the carbon fibre sealed induction kit with them fitting it and altering the map for it. which being honest is not too bad. Induction kits for anything half decent are always £200+ Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 sounds very reasonable to me. i doubt anyone can find a cheaper method of getting those sort of gains Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Wish I could get 30bhp from my VX220 for £500. Sounds very cheap to me. Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 lol stop being greedy. 220 sounds fine to me  Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 It's only 150bhp as standard. Albeit mine has been remapped and has race decat exhaust. 220 refers to the 2.2NA engine in it. Quote
Stuey Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I think I was looking at Celtic tuning when I made that price up...I am not spending any more money on the car yet....unless any of you VTS owners want to sell your wheels. One day someone will get sick of me wanting VTS wheels and give me a set  Quote
captainsensible Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Are remaps 'invisible'? Quote
welshys90 Posted November 21, 2006 Author Posted November 21, 2006 if i know what your sayin i think they are, except for when your car goes in for service or insurance snoop about it am not sure about it because never had it done to a car before Quote
wozza Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Yeah they are pretty much invisible to dealers if you disconnect the battery they cant really tell you ever had it remapped. Even with al the equipment unless there specifically looking for it. To do that they have to start comparing the maps not something thats really done. Insurance companies cant see it either. Quote
welshys90 Posted November 21, 2006 Author Posted November 21, 2006 ahh didnt know that, but how are you ment to get the car to the dealership if you disconnect the battery? but would the dealer really care that you've had your car remapped or would they unmap the remap? also what is the difference between a mobile remap and a Tune/CDA Package Quote

wozza Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 ahh didnt know that, but how are you ment to get the car to the dealership if you disconnect the battery? but would the dealer really care that you've had your car remapped or would they unmap the remap? also what is the difference between a mobile remap and a Tune/CDA Package CDA is an induction kit. This one exactly http://www.hubtraum.de/shop/images/medium/...a-box-shop1.jpg It just means you get a sealed carbon induction kit and a remap with the induction kit in mind so little more throttle response and possibility of a couple extra horses. Can be worth it on our engines not really though. Remaps have a couple good things about them though will give you better MPG and also extra power. get rid of flatsports. generally simply speaking makes it more drivable and more economical. If your flooring it more it will use more fuel though as you have more power thus needing more fuel to get that power. Drivig normally usually see an increase in MPG though. You obviously reconnect the battery it just wipes the last information from the ECU resulting in making it much harder to detect by the dealer. And if they find it they can void warranty on anything it could be cause of but as i said unless they have the original map to compare it to its a little difficult even with the equipment they have. So its virtually undetectable. Quote
