ifigureditout Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 i've heard from a few places that when you hit the rev limit the revcount turns red. is this true, or is everyone still been gentle to their engines  Quote
lee_marshuk Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Ooooooh yes it glows red alright.... Ok I may as well say it before Stuey gets in to stabby stab stab stab yes I drive with mine on the red all the time...... Its not true actually, I hardly ever have to red line it, most of my driving is motorway anyway, but it is tempting when someone pulls up along side of you in a chavved saxo to show em who's boss  Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 21, 2006 Author Posted November 21, 2006 exactly its gotta be done. is it just on the vts or all of the c4's. so does the backlight just change from orange to red? lol i think when i get mine i will just drive round with it in first glowing red  Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 21, 2006 Author Posted November 21, 2006 sorry just realised you have the exclusive so ignore the question about which models its on. dopey me  Quote
lee_marshuk Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 There's a picture of it at parkers - Clicky - and it is standard across the range. Actually, I have found it useful once - this is my first diesel car, and it took a while to get used to the reduced rev range having driven petrols all my life - the glowing red certainly catches your eye quickly before the engine electronically limits you. lol i think when i get mine i will just drive round with it in first glowing red Well of course not, you'll be a sensible driver and wear the car in won't you  Quote
lee_marshuk Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 sorry just realised you have the exclusive so ignore the question about which models its on. dopey me The VTS and the Exclusive trims are practically identical really, other than the Exclusive can have electrically adjustable driver's seat which the 3 door VTS can't, and has the marble surround, whereas the VTS has brushed steel surround and drilled pedals (which are cool and on my shopping list). ifigureditout Posted November 21, 2006 Author Posted November 21, 2006 ahh cheers for that link. some useful pics on there Quote
welshys90 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 ive got a VTR+ 110bhp and mines glows red when you hit it so it must be all models first time it happened i wonder why the hell it glowed red and then i floored it up the slip road in first gear and it light up red and starting makin noises and doin the whole sing and dance routine and then i realised that must be the red line Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 21, 2006 Author Posted November 21, 2006 C4's just keep getting cooler and cooler. Why did i have to be so sensible and decide to wait till a years time to get one  Quote
welshys90 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 lol na they can be a pain in the arse! especially if only the 40 of the 40/60 split in the back will go down and your tryin to fit an 8x10 bass cab in the back of it really annoyed me that day or your mates decide to drive it out of the petrol station and hide it from ye Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 21, 2006 Author Posted November 21, 2006 haha i think your mates are to blame for that and not the car lol. Quote
welshys90 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 lol i suppose not however that wasn't a nice day, they turned off ESP the car shouldnt have an ESP off button not in scotland anyway! Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 21, 2006 Author Posted November 21, 2006 nah that could be scary. haaate winter driving! Quote
welshys90 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 they were in the car they got the effects too they werent pretty either cos im quite heavy footed pulling away i only realised when i happened to glance at the dashboard and there was a un-ordinary light on and because the C4 is my first car ive never drove a car that doesnt have ESP or the likes so it was quite wierd Quote
wozza Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 All glow red and I will be honest when im giving it some stick which is every time I go down a motorway slip road its lit up from 1st to 4th. So what bass goes along with the cab? Would love to get myself a new bass but just dont have the money was looking at a couple Ibanez ones a while ago though. Theres some other differences between VTS and Exclusive mainly suspension and engine differences more in being with the sportier drive of the VTS. ESP should be turned off in snow / ice anyway as it will get confused at times resulting in bad things happening. Quote
welshys90 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 i've got a Warwick Corvette as well as a yamaha RBX-170 (was my first bass gonna get it defretted) and a thunderbird Quote
Welshguy Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Back on topic... There is actually somebody on the french citroen forums who has managed to convert all his displays from orange to ice blue...dunno if he's kept the redline 'red' though... http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c32/streettech/c4cockpitcopie7iq4cf.jpg Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 If you have a look on some of the pics on tint'ernet there are also pics of the speedo displays backlighting being green? Quote
Stuey Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Ok I may as well say it before Stuey gets in to stabby stab stab stab yes I drive with mine on the red all the time...... damn you beat me to it  I want the Blue lights!! that is very cool Quote
Welshguy Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 I want the Blue lights!! that is very cool Wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that you drive a blue car would it ?  EDIT : I'll try and find the link...you have to be good with a soldering iron though and have balls of steel ! Quote
Stuey Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 well it would go with the car but blue is IT friendly, ask anyone who works in the IT and they will tell you that anything with a blue glow is good... Looking at that picture, it has been photoshop'd to buggery, I didnt notice it first time but it is the photo out of the brochure!! as the car has no bonnet... Quote
welshys90 Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 and theres no doors either on that photo either. the blue is cool. and not everything in IT thats blue is good, for example the blue screen of death or so its called is a frequent pain in the arse. Quote
Stuey Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 should have said glowy blue rather than just blue for the IT pleasing colour chart... Quote
wozza Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Thats why linux was invented. Although i have still yet to see a BSOD on XP64. But yeah can tell its a shop. But i would like blue lighting or red. Quote
Stuey Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 I seem to recall you get get some firmware for Ipods so you can change the colours of the screens...I would imagine it would be the same principle... Red would be a really bad driving colour ANGRY!!! Quote
