Guest CE05LDB Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Hi Guys, Sorry I haven't been on in a while as I collapsed a few weeks ago and I haven't been well since. I am still not right but I need your help. My brother came to my house today and he said the fan has come on as soon as I start the engine and a warning message comes up saying STOP! Temp to high and coolant light on. I checked the coolant level and its just over the min. I looked at mine and mine is just over the min aswell so its not that. I left the car for half an hour started it again the fan kicked in again straight away and warning message. The fan still runs for 15 mins after the engine is switched off. I got a feeling the thermostat is on its way out. That happend on his 2nd Saxo. When the engine ir running I can here a clicking from the engine but can't find where its coming from. My neighbour thinks it could be the thermostat aswell. Any idea guys. Lee Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 I got the RAC to tow the car to the Citroen Dealer as it wouldn't start for awhile. I did get it to start after the 3rd attempt but didn't want to risk breaking down on the way to the Citroen Dealer so I told my brother let the RAC tow it up there. The Garage said it was the sensor which they are waiting for a new one now which hopefully will be there tomorrow. They must have the car done in 48 hours as the RAC will only give a hire car for 48 hours. Quote
kfk Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 only problem is if the same as the ones were changing the sensor has gone on backorder!.....was given a date in december for expected delivery. Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 You just confirmed what we found out yesterday. They can't get the part till the 10 Dec. Motability has asked Citroen to try all their dealer to see if any has it in stock. I presume your dealership hasn't got it either. If yours get a call you know who's car its for. If there is no joy there Motability are going to have to hire a Automatic Hire car and fit hand controls on it. This is the final score for my brother he wants motability to replace the car. Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Motability has found a car hire firm in London which does cars with hand controls so the guy is bringing a Nissan Micra down from London for my brother tomorrow. The Citroen dealer automaticaly thought its ok he can use his brothers car as it has hand controls but Im sorry but no as its my car and why should my brother pay 3 weeks money for a car he hasn't even got so I said Motability will have to get a car for him. Citroen needs to sort their currunt cars out before bringing out new models. My brother always seem to have a bad Citroen apart from his 1st Saxo. Quote
iannez Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 we had pluriel in today with similar fault. open circit fault on lexia so checked switch and wiring and all ok. live data reads -48 degrees which tecnical say is default setting so looking like ecu fault. Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Well according to the dealer Citroen has discovered that the sensors on the new shape C2s and C3s can go faulty so they have made an upgraded one but they won't be in the uk till 10th Dec. Its maddening that there is a car just sat there going to waste at the garage. My brother said he wish he kept it when I got it started and just drove short trips till the part arrived. Oh well at least he has a car to use for now. Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Well had a surprise today the dealer phoned my brother to say the car was done. I think it was done so quick as Citroen has to pay for my brothers adapted hire car. When I picked the car up they had washed it.I complained that they never wash my car and Motability pays them to and I said if not done next time ill be reporting it I inspected the car for any damage as the RAC guy told me to as he has delt with the dealer before who tried to but the blame on the RAC for damaged caused.
