ifigureditout Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 in the options list in the brochure it lists a black panel function. what is it lol? i'm pretty sure its not the electrochrome rear view mirror which is what i first thought it was Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Where you can set the central dash display to be blank? You can have normal display, inverted display or blank....... off the top of my head cant remember the button sequence.... However your right....Not quite sure what benefit this option has as it just means you cant see what radio station your on, MPG, Time date etc.... I think its just another measure to prevent glare at night... Quote
Stuey Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 no the "turn the screens off" is standard...I saw it but the woman at the dealership didnt know what it was...maybe I have it already and just dont know about it?? Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Stuey I think your right Where did you see it listed ifigureditout? Was it in the brochure or in a list of options you can enable for the car? Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 24, 2006 Author Posted November 24, 2006 lol i wonder what it is then. it sounds cool whatever it does Quote
welshys90 Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 i dunno, i think theres a button on the stereo the dims everything Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 24, 2006 Author Posted November 24, 2006 in the citroen brochure at the back of one of them there is a list of everything the cars come with as standard and the "black panel" is listed there Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 in the citroen brochure at the back of one of them there is a list of everything the cars come with as standard and the "black panel" is listed there Ah... Sounds like its an option they rely on to make the lower spec cars sound higher spec I'd imagine. They usually quote things like glove box lid and interior lights as other "features" for the base models...I guess it makes it a bit sexier Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 24, 2006 Author Posted November 24, 2006 ah rite, even still would be interesting to know what it is. Quote
Stuey Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 I seem to recall it was on the options list when I ordered mine... Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 24, 2006 Author Posted November 24, 2006 just looked at the brochure its not an option and is only available on the vts and exclusive models. Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 24, 2006 Author Posted November 24, 2006 ahhh it seems to be night illumination. so whats the difference at night between a vts or exclusive and other models? Quote
Safety Engineer Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Have got the black panel function on my VTR+ it turns off the rev counter, climate control and radio displays - no lights or info, it also removes all info with the exception of speedo on the main central display (other exception is cruise control or speed limiter) annoyingly it also removes the illumination for the steering wheel buttons (a little too much of a good thing). I like it especially on unlit roads as it cuts down the glare considerably when combined with the dimmer. Just touch the button and it springs back on again or any radio control or climate control button. Nice ;) Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 I find that the AC/Heater Display can reflect up into the windscreen which is a bit anoying. I didnt realise until the other night that if you hold down the half white, half dark circle button you can assign different functions to it, such as turn on off interior lighting.... Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 24, 2006 Author Posted November 24, 2006 ah that sounds quite useful actually Quote
wozza Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 That comes as standard though. Least my VTR+ has it. Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 24, 2006 Author Posted November 24, 2006 weird one cos it says its only vts and exclusive in the brochure but it sounds like a feature the whole range would have Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 That is the "dark button" which we are talking about, and that is standard i believe (my VTR has it). The "Black panel" may be different?!? ;) Quote
wozza Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 theres 2 buttons ciaran the dark button and then theres the half white / half black circle button as well which turns the lights on and off theres also a dimmer which im not sure if you get either all thats on the steering wheel of the VTR+/ VTS / exclusive Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 24, 2006 Author Posted November 24, 2006 http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r57/ifigureditout_icanseeagain/blackpanel.jpg it says this but still doesn't actually tell us what it is Quote
wozza Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Is justwhat rich said then and comes standard on anything VTR+ and above. Quote
Welshguy Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 My VT has the "Dark" feature where the internal lights can be switched off, but that function was only accessible through the standard stereo, which I no longer use.. Did have it useful anyways! B) Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Well then, looks like we all have it! :D :D Quote
