dave&trace Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Just wondered what you would update or change on the new updated C4 ?Ours would be 1 high adjustable seat belts on coupe2 blue tooth standard [and built in phone optional all models]3 turboed VTS4 shoe shops listed on satnav map for Trace B) Quote
C4VTS Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 MP3 CD playing needs to be standard, as that is biggest problem with the C4. Quote
wozza Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Spoiler standard on the coupe's as it doesnt look right without them Turbo'd vts is high up there or a possible V6 version. Deffinately want the hight adjustable seats. Maybe some decent recaro seats like some of the alternative companies are supplying. C4 picasso style interior. 18" wheel package offered as an upgrade possibly. Something to brighten up the interior a bit as its a bit too much black on black on the lower versions. And Blue lit interior lights not the amber ones. Oh and a horn when you press it screams out TWAAAAAT! Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 All of the above plus... Bigger glove box! Adjustable/ Variable Speed Controlled Windscreen Wipers....more useful than Auto Wipe I think - Biggest thing I miss of my Focus.... Narrower bar across the rear window (Coupe) so you can actually see who is driving the car behind.... Remove screen arial in the coupe window...bit of a cheap/heath robinson aproach t resolve a solution.... I'm climbing on my soap box... B) If the VTS gets the new 206 GT turbo engine (remapped) is this really going to put the VTS competitivly against rivals? E.g Ford Vauxhall Renault (Rubbish) (Rubbish), Mini... Their top sports models have siginificantly more power/torque (p*ss poor looks) and "probably" limited tractability. And with the likes of the Super Minis coming on the market with similar power outputs to the current VTS but lighter bodies, where does this put the VTS in the marketplace? Is the VTS more about being able to put the power down well in a controlled manner? Not like slinging it into the tarmac and the driver does the rest of the hard work? e.g. VXR? I believe the industry marketing men are going through a 80's revival trying to convince POWER IS EVERYTHING. Where these cars are higher powered and faster than the VTS, I think it has the risk of being unfairly compared to these quicker cars of similar size and range profile. Ulitmatly this will lead to generalisations of the VTS being underpowered and slow by motoring reviews = poor sales  Before releasing the VTS again, I think Citrown need to be clear where the VTS fits into the marketplace..warm hatch/hot hatch/coupe?...and clearly distance itself from those cars which the press will assume are its rivals. But what will its competitors be if its not the range topping sports models? Afterall that is what the VTS is at the moment....B) When looking into getting a VTS I read an AutoBild artical where they tested the VTS against Hyundai Coupe, Toyota Celica T Sport 190 and forgot the rest but the VTS came out tops.... B) What ever the outcome I still think the VTS is one of the best looking cars on the road at the moment  Quote
lee_marshuk Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 My biggest want would definitely be a bigger diesel engine - 200+BHP or something similar. With Wozza on the recaro seats, although I do like the leather ones. The individual climate controls by vents (e.g. C4 picasso) would look cool. 18" wheels on top models definitely. Blue lit interior lights And one last thing - in true Citroen style - get rid of the rattles. The C4 was so much better than the build quality of earlier Citroens, but I've still had to have now nearly 10 rattles resolved - surely this can be squeeeeezed down to the odd one that every car suffers? Welshguy Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Waaaa-tish...... I WANT A TURBO !! :D Quote
ifigureditout Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 definately deserves a turbo'd engine. will stop my mind wandering and thinking about those megane's lol Quote
philstott1983 Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Two things that get on my tits a bit......... 1) the stereo controls on the fixed steering thingy, have a button to go back a track!!!!!!!!! Unless my car's broke, have the roller to go back and forward a track in cd mode, and the 'next track' button already on there, have that as source select? 2) The automatic lights - its always all or nothing. They're either off, or full headlamps are on, why does the auto function never just turn on the side lamps when full beams arnt needed? Quote
lee_marshuk Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 why does the auto function never just turn on the side lamps when full beams arnt needed? Because driving with side lights on is actually a criminal offence. Yeah I'd love a back button, I mean, I've ended up having to use the voice commands all the time just to roll back a track when Money for Nothing by Dire Straits comes on!! Quote
wozza Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Classic rock...love it! I've now also just had to put dire straights on after you saying that sultans of wing :D But as lee said sidelights are illegal technically according to the highway code you should use dipped beam or main beams when it is safe to do so with no danger of blinding other road users. Side lights are not supposed to be used in this country. Even though everyone does. Think car manufacturers however have to keep to it with the auto lights because of the law. Been a while since i used to steering wheel controls but what does the roller do? Im sure it used to cycle radio stations but does it not do tracks? Wasn't there a button you could press then use the roller to scroll through a song list? Could be wrong as its been nearly a year since mine was used. Quote
lee_marshuk Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Ooooooh yes!!! Sultans of Swing!! One of my top ten tracks of all time!! The roller cycles radio stations in radio mode, and moves up/down the CD changer in CD mode. Perhaps if you don't have the CD changer it moves the CD tracks up and down the list? I don't know never seen it without the changer....... Quote
wozza Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 As I said I have absolutely no idea been that long since I had the standard stereo in my car. And another thing that would be good on the C4 since lee's picture just reminded me the exclusive getting colour coded sidestrips. Its supposed to be the top of the range model it should have them. Quote

Its supposed to be the top of the range model it should have them. I'd second that Wozza... A multichanger/ CD player that likes MP3's as standard And a better mechanism for the sliding arm rest! Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 And a button to make it dance and ice skate! Seriously, I agree with the above posts, also a start button would be cool The "List" button is what wozza is talking about. In "Radio" mode it lists the radio stations, but, as i found out this morning (thanks Wozza) is also lists the track numbers when in "CD" mode. Didnt really find it that helpful to be honest though... Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 sidelights are illegal technically according to the highway code you should use dipped beam or main beams when it is safe to do so with no danger of blinding other road users. Side lights are not supposed to be used in this country. Even though everyone does. Running the risk of creating a mass of confusion... :P I dont believe the use of sidelights is technically "illegal". I was always under the impression that if you were on a urban lit area where speed is max 30mph you can use them (you'd be mad to solely rely on them IMO). No. 93 You Mustuse headlights at night, except on restricted roads (those with street lights not more than 185 metres (600 feet) apart and which are generally subject to a speed limit of 30 mph) ensure all sidelights and rear registration plate lights are lit at night. Being that the HC is so ambigous make of that what you will however I read that as I have previously stated! the following statement then says No. 95 You should also:use dipped headlights, or dim-dip if fitted, at night in built-up areas and in dull daytime weather, to ensure that you can be seen The HC is very clear about the dangers you cause in dazzling other road users. The legality of driving in a 30mph zone with sidelights on in the dark is too vauge for me, however I read the above as it not being illegal. Not that I would even bother trying relying on sidelights! I suspect if you got knicked its probably because the officer got out of bed the wrong side that morning, had an argument with his wife just as he left, ran over the cat getting the car out of the garage and stood in a puddle on the way into work. philstott1983 Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 But as lee said sidelights are illegal technically according to the highway code you should use dipped Think car manufacturers however have to keep to it with the auto lights because of the law. Isn't this contradicting? Why have the function to just turn the sidelights on if illegal, but the manufactuer are ensuring the car is legal by the auto lights not putting sidelights on? Are we sure its illegal to use sidelights?! Quote
wozza Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Not illegal but in dark conditions and dull conditions you should use dipped beam not sidelights. i think...i have no idea since rich posted that thing i was told it was illegal. Quote
lee_marshuk Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Clarification - I've asked a traffic cop mate of mine and as I thought, it is illegal to have your car moving on a public road with sidelights on. Whilst parked or stationary, sidelights are acceptable, but upon movement dipped beam or main beam whichever is appropriate should be used! Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Wozza mate its all as clear as mud...! That was what I was trying to put across in the post not very well. It is not illegal to use lights in lit 30mph zones but must use headlights in built up areas...I was always under the impression they are both the same things. I could ask the resident "Bus Spotting, Highway Code Ingesting Nerd" in work. As much as I love you guys I just cant face a day of work of him comming up to my desk with "snippets" of information that take days to explain! Quote

PMSL had one of these once at a client's - I tell you what, I never knew there were so many identical bus numbers running the same length journey in different counties! Fascinating! Quote

Oh yes...its fascinating isnt it? I had the other day the lighting up times of London and Bristol for every Feb since 2000....I've never been so interested - infact I nearly wet myself I cant be rude to no-one but he really does get excited sometimes that I have to walk off. A mate in work also rings me from round the corner of the office to save me.... Quote
ham's c4vts Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I wish the VTS had different (maybe 18" wheels) wheels to the other models, just like the Exclusive has its own wheels Quote
Welshguy Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Yeah I still would really like the VTS alloys, but 17" would be downsizing for me! Quote
Safety Engineer Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 The 'teardrop' shape wing mirrors look great but taper down where you need most visibility in a mirror. How about stylish mirrors that give good visibility as well??? The C4 Picasso seems to have them... :D Quote
