Mike5483 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Ive currently got a C1 Rhythm whilst the C4 is having some work done. The thing is, its getting low on fuel and I cant get the fuel cap off. The dealer didnt give me the hand book either. You put the key in and turn it, but it only turns to about 45 degrees, and doesn't unlock. I feel it need to turn futher. Anyone got a C1, or any experiance of a C1??? All in all, I like it. Its a very honest little car. Puts a smile on my face. The gear change is excellent, much better then the C4, not a single rattle inside either. It rolls a huge amount in the corners, but you can fling it around. The engine sounds mad as a box of snakes, and when I lifted the cover (its not big enough to be a bonnet!!!) I missed it the first time I looked for it, then found it, the little speck sitting right in the middle. Also, I keep losing it, it falls down cracks in the road and gets hdden behind stray leaves blowing around!!! Its a really fun little car though, just ashame about the looks!!! Quote
Welshguy Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 If I remember rightly (when I had the C1 as a curtesy car) you need to turn the car, and then squeeze two "blocks" on the petrol cap inwards in order to release the cap. Hope this helps! Quote
Mike5483 Posted November 28, 2006 Author Posted November 28, 2006 I didnt have to press any 'blocks' though i know what you mean. I took it back to the dealer and the guy there had a go and he got it, but it took him ages to figure it to. You just turn the key to the left and then keep turning until the whole cap unscrews out of the car. Its a bit wierd to be honest. Its gotta be a good 8 turns to get it off. Quote
philstott1983 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 C1 or bike?! ........... my choice would be pedal power rather than that 'thing'! Bit of a come down from a C4, thank god its only temporary???? Quote
Mike5483 Posted November 28, 2006 Author Posted November 28, 2006 I quite like it. It is what it is, there are no pretenses, no delusion of grandure. Its just an honest little run about. The seats are quite comfy, its easy to get into and out of. It just makes me smile, I can have fun in it with out to much risk of losing me licence!!! Quote
welshys90 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 yeah, my brothers girlfriend has a C1, she has racing style seats which are very comfy, no boot in it tho and i also noticed that there isnt a forum for it on here! which she wasnt too pleased about Quote

citroeneddie Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I have asked for one to be created. Did not get a reply though. Not to worry, I'll sneak any C1 questions on other models :D Quote
wozza Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Feel free to use the general forum or whatever for the C1 forum until we get a dedicated C1 forum. Quote
Mike5483 Posted November 30, 2006 Author Posted November 30, 2006 Just to update... I returned the C1 last night after 3 days and got my C4 back, but it needs to go back in to have the work completed after being authroised by Citroen. The story so far is thus: I took it in with a list of faults and asked them to keep the car for a few days to look at it thoroughly. Its been in several times before, but for just one day at a time and I believe they did not have enough time to investigate fully. So they kept it for 2 days. The list of faults was this: Whining at 2000RPMAircon leaking into footwellFront suspension cracksRear Suspension groans and is harshExhaust knocks and smells of sulpher, plus makes a blowing noiseReduced performanceClutch feels gritty after heavy use.Brakes judder when braking down from high speeds Following the investigation the following is being done... A new Alternator Belt Tensioner Pulley has been fitted. Apparently this was in quite a bad condition and could have led to belt failure. they did this as a safety issue. Whine has now gone. The car also needs a new Cat and middle box, new pads and discs all round and a new clutch. They could find nothing wrong with the suspennsion. The aircon leak appears to have been fixed, but only time will tell on this. So far I have been really impressed with Hidsons. In the past, I have been very derisory about them. I didnt believe they took me seriously, but I think they are now. My car was returned to me having been cleaned, and I didnt have to pay for the use of the courtesy car, normally, its £10 per day. Anyway, so far so good. The Service Manager is getting back in touch with me once Citroen have authorised the repairs, so god knows how long that will take. Anyway, Id just like to say thatkyou to Hidsons Gravesend, you are finally doing me proud!!! Quote
Welshguy Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Nice to hear a positive comment about a dealership! I can't fault my Cardiff dealership - they look at and repair everything I have asked them too - must have completely wiped out the profit Citroen made on the sale of the car to me...but then again, everything should have been right in the first place! <_< Quote
skaramanga Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Sounds like you've had quite a lot of bother Mike!Hope mine doesn't give the same amount of trouble. Hope yours will be sorted out for good now. Quote
wozza Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 mines going to the dealers again in a couple weeks booked it in today after driving home from bury. Theres a roundabout section thats part of the motorway where i live and coming off it hit the hill to accelerate up car just lost all power service came up and went into limp home mode. Pulled over on side of the hard shoulder turned it off and on and it went away. But it needed booked in anyway so gave me a reason to do it now incase it happens again. Also getting a lot of clutch judder for some reason everytime i take off it does it now. Unless i take off incredibly slow. Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Try setting off fast aswell, i found that when my clutch shuddered, the only way to stop it was to give it "no" revs, or lots of revs! The first option was a "no-no" turning on to main roads!! The Crawley dealership said: "We cannot replicate the problem"!!! Funny that, cause i could and my dad could! <_< Quote
wozza Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Think somethin is definitely up with the car to be honest. today accelerating on the motorway it struggled to hit 40 in 2nd gear. foot on floor was going no where. And then just displayed service on the panel. baring in mind i changed just after 6000rpm in 1st i was giving it a little stick so was doing over 30 when I changed up. It took about another minute to hit 40. Usually in that time it'd be up well past the 100 mark. Quote
