xavtia Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 hi i've had my C4 six months now and been pretty pleased with it so far only been in once although there are a couple of things like the speaker in the passenger door vibrating but its not too annoying yet however the service counter seems to have a mind of its own when i got the car it had 8.5k on the clock and the service counter said around 12k, when the mileage hit 11k the service indicator said 8K. I went to france and did 1.5 k in a couple of weeks but the indicator hardly dropped but now at 13k the service indicator says 2.8k is this happening to anyone else ? Quote
dave&trace Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 yes we have this too our car has been to dealer 3 times but still not right they say it needs a down load from the internet we are still waiting <_< can`t believe something so simple cannot be sorted out by a citroen dealer.shame they aren`t as competent at mending them as they are at selling them! Mike5483 Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Is it not a variable one on the C4 like VAG cars??? Theres drop quickly if the car is drive more 'sportily' and slowly if its driven sedately. Quote

C4VTS Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Nah! I don't think it's supposed to be variable. <_< The Citroen services are all at fixed mileages unlike VAG, where you can choose between fixed or variable. Quote
xavtia Posted December 9, 2006 Author Posted December 9, 2006 I drive pretty slowly so it shouldnt go down that quickly its only a 1.4 and I never floor it. Just wondering if its going to be annoying when it gets to zero as the service isnt due until end of May and I'm pretty sure I wont get to 20K before then. I know they had problems with the service counters on the xsara as mine used to go awol between 10k and 7.5k <_< but it only used to flash when switching on so wasnt a big problem Quote
watermeade Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 I have started having a problem,My service light is on despite the fact it has only done 8900 miles,it says and my service interval is 20000 miles. It says -100 before I turn the key.I have had it into Autoworld this morning and they have reset the service light, got in it tonight to go and pick my Wife up and it has reverted back to the same, apart from it saying -50 now.As I was passing I dropped in and they want me to bring my spare key and my card, and are talking about a SW upgrade,Any ideas ? kfk Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Would think they are planning on a software update. The main computer controls the service interval counter......on some models (not all) there have been problems and this may be the answer to your problem. Looks like your dealer is going about it the right way. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 The main computer controls the service interval counter......on some models (not all) Whys that KFK? Would have thought they would have been the same for all models of C4? Just curious Quote

Guest CE05LDB Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 My C3 went into the dealer to have the handbreak done at 12,000 miles and my service counter was showing 8,000 miles to 20,000 miles service. When they handed me the car back it was showing 15,000 to next service. Quote
watermeade Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Just for update,it has been in today and had a firmware upgrade and this appears to have solved the problem.. Quote
