philstott1983 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Couple of minor things, to see if anybody can be of assistance before i take a trip to my dealer to sort them out! 1) the small draws under the ait vents on the left and right side of the dash, they're stuck and now dont come out when pushed 2) found a random round piece of rubber in the foot well of the drivers side the other day. where's that come from?! 3) when changing over from radio to cd, the speakers all crackle dead loud for a short time 4) the sticker in the back window, with the dealer info where i got it from. It's very hard to pull off and wont budge, any advice on how that can be taken off? As well as clearing up the back window a tad more, i'm not being paid to advertise them Quote
kfk Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 The ones who put tape over the number plates and remove he sticker from the rear window are usually the first to ask for discount.....of course this is after screwing the dealer down on the car price in the first place. Now of course i can understand that you dont wish to advertise.......so i assume you will be taking the chevrons of the front grill & tailgate.....not to mention scrubbing michelin off on the kerbstones. Incidently, dont pull it it will no doubt remove the heated rear window element. Worth trying a bit of meths to soften the glue or a hair drier. Quote
wozza Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 The front draws depending on how stuck they are. Just yank them out if you can get something to grip onto them with. SOmetimes a little change or somethign gets stuck down the back. Rubber no idea without seeing it. cd player no idea what can cause that. Quote
Mike5483 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 This random piece of rubber... Is it round and long with a hole up the middle (Ooo err!!!)??? Quote
Rich_Eason Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 This random piece of rubber... Is it round and long with a hole up the middle (Ooo err!!!)??? Long as in tube? Is it black? Bulkhead gromet or something? Dont post a pic Mike as this could be quite a good quiz <_< ;) "Car Parts Charades"...only problem is you dont know the answer :( Quote
Stuey Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 that rubber bit is most probably one of the covers from under the clutch pedal. I found one the other day. get your head in the footwell and it is obvious where it goes, there are 2 of them and one will be showing the bare metal screw head... Quote
hertsnminds Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 "Car Parts Charades" Assuming of course that it came off the car in the first place and didn't just fall off of someones shoe as they got in or out of the car. IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote

Ages ago I found a piece of rubber, about 1'' or so long with a small hole up the middle (not all the way through). I found it on the floor mat in the drivers footwell and I didnt know where it came from. It looks very much like those plastic supports that screw into the back of car radios. Anyway, I had it for ages and chucked it away. Now, my car is going in tomorrow for the clutch to be investigated. Could this be related??? Quote
citroeneddie Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 My dealer updated their rear window sticker, so I changed it to the new one <_< How sad is that then? ;) Quote

Worth trying a bit of meths to soften the glue or a hair drier.Just picked my new VTR+ today, didn't ask for a discount..of any sort, nor was I offered one....fair enough.. I WILL be removing the dealer sticker from rear window, and if it happens to damage the heating element, guess what, I will be claiming for a new rear window FOC as I wasn't asked if I wanted the 'go faster' sticker there in the first place! It's not because I don't want to advertise, I don't like the look of a bloody great sticker in my rear window...;) You can hardy assimilate the Manufactures Badges with Dealer stickers..most dealerships these days have no allegiance to a particular manufacturer anyway...they just sell cars....plain and simple. Sometimes the punter doesn't have a choice where to go buy the Car of their choice, but when they choose a particular make, they would surely also expect to have that manufacturers badge on it..... <_< I do believe you have become a bit of a cynic Sir.... :( Quote
C4VTS Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 First thing I did when I got my C4 was remove the rear window dealer sticker. It spoils the look of the car. <_< Quote

Maybe to do with the clutch mechanism.......only thing i think it might be is part of the assister spring mechanism.......but then if you have/had one bit there should have been at least 2 other pieces.....one of which was a spring. Stuey Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 mine never came with dealer stickers in the back window, infact none of the Coupe's have them...might be for visability?? I have however put an EVO sticker where the dealer sticker should have been... Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Mine came with a sticker, but it was not bought from a citroen dealer, needless to say, i took it off asap :P Quote
wozza Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Did not have any stickers on my coupe either. Only bit of advertising I got was a Citroen Manchester keyring. Quote

lab44 Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I have taken the front grille off mine and scratched out the citroen signs on my wheels with a brillo paid. Does anyone if you can remove the one on the steering wheel without breaking it? Dont see why after paying 11k for a car I should advertise Citroen  :o Quote
