dave&trace Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 our berlingo multispace 06 has been into our local citroen garage 3 times for poor breaks they have told us there is nothing wrong with it !!!!! load of rubbish, waffle waffle. The breaks failed on Friday. We had to take it to another Citroen dealer nearby, they told us it was unsafe to use it.We are now waiting 4 weeks yes 4 weeks for a part this vehicle is used for our work everyday. They can`t even lend us a car.We are still waiting for an indicator part for our C4 that was sold 3 weeks ago.I THINK I WOULD GET BETTER SERVICE AT A BACK STREET GARAGE!!! RUDE,RUBBISH DEALER AWARD GOES TO OUR LOCAL CITROEN DEALER.    :D :( :( :( :( Quote
Stuey Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 go on name and shame them so none of us get done by them!! Quote

Z3M Roadster Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Sounds like Citroen service in general, not just this specific dealer. Quote
dave&trace Posted January 17, 2007 Author Posted January 17, 2007 Sounds like Citroen service in general, not just this specific dealer.citroen uk were no better, told them we`d been driving around in a car with no breaks and a bad oil leak from new for 3 months banging our heads against the wall trying to convince dealer we had a major problem with our new car. He said we were expecting too much from the breaks and were comparing it with our 2.0 litre HDI belingo and this one is only a 1.6 HDI.Then on Friday we called in at Citroen Harrogate and they took car off road and said it was not safe to drive. The parts are now on back order from citroen uk estimated 4 weeks DUTTON FORSHAW refused to lend us a loan car and said they were not obilged. Rang citroen uk and they were not only unhelpful and not interested , but also very rude!!!!!!!!!!!   Quote
CoolCarbon Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Ever Tried Rigbys at Eccleston nr Chorley..... http://www.rigbye.citroen.co.uk/ Used to use them when I lived down there, always helpful and willing to go the extra mile, in my experience anyway. They are a family firm, more inclined to listen than the Group Dealerships.... Quote
lee_marshuk Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I find Citroen UK very variable - some of them are quite rude as you say, whereas one or two are quite helpful. Any issues I have now I address them in writing - it seems to get a bit more serious attention. Quote
xavtia Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 ohh glad i didnt buy my car there then was looking at an iron grey Walker Farrimond in Nelson sound a better bet they were really good when I had problems with my xsara and the other local dealers told me I had to put up with a faulty fuel gauge I think the wording was " tough you'll have to get used to it" so I took it elsewhere and it was actually a warped fuel tank Quote
dave&trace Posted January 18, 2007 Author Posted January 18, 2007 DUTTON FORSHAW CONFUSED WITH TECHNOLOGY    Lucky escape mate :) :) :) :) Quote
citroeneddie Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I would concur with Cool Carbon's note on family dealerships. I have 5 Group dealers closer than the family run one I use. More time and travel but worth it.(Chevron Motors Worcester) Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Time for some more naming and shaming..... Took my car into Motorsales Citroen in Harlow today (family owned dealer) to have the service indicator software updated and injectors replaced. Arrived and after 15 minutes wait the service advisor finally found my details and I re-explained a couple of times what work needed to be done, just to make sure she understood and I wouldn't have to come back. I was then told that despite my appointment being booked 2 weeks prior, there was no courtesy car available, but there was a van! Didn't worry me too much as the work was only meant to take a day and I only had to get to the office. I was taken over to the van which transpired to be a xsara estate parts delivery van with no rear seats and numerous bits of external trim missing (battle scars). As you can guess I wasn't overly enamoured by the vehicle and on opening the door and seeing the state of the interior with no rear view mirror I requested my keys back and got the lease company to book the car in elsewhere. Who in their right mind would give a customer a parts delivery van as a courtesy car! Another minus point for Citroen, good work chaps Quote
syrup Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 This is a quote from another forum I belong to. "The 'customer care' from the local dealer is the worst I have EVER experienced. Stuck up snotty nosed people who just don't give a ****. So thanks LR for giving me a car which has put me into so much debt I nearly lost my house ,and I'm not kidding. My one wish in the world is that LR go the same way as Rover ,and then they can't do anyone any harm again." Could all car dealerships be the same, not just Citroen, once you've bought the car they don't give a t*ss. Quote
C4VTS Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 The best customer care I have had was from Toyota, and that's going back a few years when had a company car. With the same employer I had a Ford and a Citroen as company cars, but Toyota really knew how to treat the customer. Also nothing ever went wrong with the car, not even a squeak! Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Independant specialists are the way forward, they have to be good or no one would bother going to them. Just a shame that my lease company insists I use main dealers. Quote
C4VTS Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Independant specialists are the way forward, they have to be good or no one would bother going to them. Just a shame that my lease company insists I use main dealers. The independants are not all good and have their fair share of cowboys, and I speak from experience. When I had Audi A4 was fed up with paying Audi prices for servicing, so tried a so called Audi/VW specialist in Oxford. I had service done and asked them to change the antifreeze. Went to pick the car up and was a bit early so waited in reception.Other customers turned up to collect their cars and every one they said they changed the windscreen wipers were worn out and had replaced them to add £30 to the bill the cheeky buggers, and they also did it with me, and people were not given the option to keep the old ones. Anyway next day car overheats and breakdown has to be called out. Car is returned to cowboys, and they tell me that the hose clip was not fitted properly! Is that not a basic thing to check when you are replacing antifreeze! Quote

wozza Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 When they do something like that you say really cause I only replaced them 3 days ago. And watch there faces drop. Quote
dave&trace Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 Guess what? are car is still off road and awaiting parts !! good citroen customer service.(i don`t think so!!!) :o :D :( :( :( :( Quote
kfk Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Independent specialist! Wonder if that would be the garage last week that rung me about 3 seperate items: - Can you tell me how to time up a........... They had undone the bottom camshaft pulley without realising it didnt have a woodruf key to hold it in place. - Can you tell me whats involved in reseating the injectors on a C3 Diesel......this call followed immediately after a customer had rung me with an enquiry as to what it meant and could any garage do it! - And the other item........well i left them on hold and they wernt there when i went back. And then of course i had the call from the local Unipart Shop......Can you tell me which clutch i should be suppling my customer with.....is theres a 90hp or 110? And then theres the Garage that has booked 2 cars in with ust this week.......the 1st one he had spent (wasted) a considerable amount of time and money fitting bits (guessing) and getting it wrong. and followed it up with booking another in to have a key programmed. In my opinion they may be capable of 'servicing' your car. They may be able to do this at a more reasonable labour rate And they may give you a sense of being looked after but when you give them something more technical will you be paying 'time taken' in which case your paying for them to bumble around fitting bits needlessly. With regard Courtesy cars........had a customer call me at 9.00 on the saturday before Christmas. The conversation started with the 'i dont know if you can help' question, followed by 'we didnt buy it from you but were going away for xmas'. In a nutshell their picasso clutch had failed and they needed to get from Kent to Skegness on the 27th dec. I scratched around and found a C4......thought i was being of assistance here!! Customers comment to this......well thats not going to be big enough, cant you ring round and get one from another dealer? Politely i informed them that i wasnt able to do this and this was the best i could offer at short notice. We eventually finished our discussions on this at around 11.45 with the customer telling me i was unhelpful and objecting to paying £10 per day for the use of the vehicle......at one point he even told me he would only be using it to go up there and back so didnt see why he had to pay for the days it would just be parked there....we could collect it if we want and return it for when he came home! Needless to say we didnt see the car, but i spoke to a friend at another local dealer and he was telling me about this ar5eh0le he had ring him on the saturday before christmas that needed a car......he was offered a Piccaso......which wasnt big enough!!........what makes me think he was after a C8 for xmas! With regar to your comments on the Courtesy car... i agree with you its totally unacceptable to be offered a vehicle like this......after all what type of advert is it for the company and yet again it gives you a poor impression of the dealer network in general. Welshguy Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 My car is back in the dealership early Feb The gear linkage knocking against the exhaust problem has resurfaced, so we shall see if it can be fixed! Quote
wozza Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 I need to take mine down possibly today as my seat is now broken. I had them get rid of a rattle a few weeks ago on the seat but it looks like one of the bolts was not put on right and has come away from somewhere as the front corner of the seat now lifts up. This is rather annoying when taking off at the lights as the force causes me to go somewhat backwards the seat lifts and tilts further backwards. Having to take off very very slowly. Had a look can see where its come away from but theres no bolt or anything there and i cant get to it without taking the seat out. So gonna let Citroen do it. Quote
