Hi

My C4 is due for its first (12500) service. My previous car was a 307 and there is a local Peugeot dealer who I took it to. I called them to see if they can service my C4, even though they are Peugeot dealers. They said they can do it okay, as long as its a standard service which it is. It would end up with Peugeot filters/parts though, does this matter with my warranty?

I just wouldn't want my Citroen dealer to take the hump with this.

BTW The Citroen dealer is a bit more expensive for the service.

What do you think?

Thanks for the help.

Legally there is no reason why you can't take it to the Peugeot dealer providing it's serviced in accordance with the official schedule...

Is it just the price, or are you unhappy with the Citroen dealer for some reason?

No, the Citroen dealer is fine. Some of it is price (i'm tight fisted  ), and the Peugeot dealer happens to be closer to where I live and I know them better. Still don't know whether I should just go to Citroen in case it needs any updates etc.

If it's running fine, go to where you feel best the best deal is, after all, it's still under warranty which wont be affected if you get it done as per schedule....

Then wait until the next service and take it to the Citroen dealers, by which time there will no doubt be a stack more updates... :D

If you get a problem meantime...let the warranty sort it out..

This has been discussed before many times.

The servicing must use genuine Citroen parts.

You will not get any notification of recalls, as often only the dealer has the details, as kfk has mentioned before.

The Peugeot parts will likely be the exact same ones you have in your car anyway. If you open your bonnet you will see the Peugeot logo on a fair few things under your bonnet.

But I would say take it to Citroen in case there is anything needing doing they will also check if there is any recalls out on it etc and sort them out at the same time.

There might be a snag with the parts if anything went wrong.

I know when I was at my Citroen Dealer last I saw this guy came in and he needed a part replaced under warranty for a Berlingo and he asked Peugeot if they had one for the Peugeot Partner as Citroen was taking so long which they did But the Citroen Dealer told this guy we won't cover the cost of the part as you need to have it through us.
