Nice cars but for a car costing over £30,000 and projected to be worth less than £10k in 3 years not exactly gonna have people running out to buy them.

3 years time though I think they might be a little more sought after for a motorway cruiser they are very comfortable cars. Few of us had a good poke around one when we were in Birmingham at the MPH show and think everyone liked it.

got monthly mag last week and it says they only sold 16 of them last year so they might be a bit cheaper after 3 year but finding one could be a problem

Id love one, purely to be individual.

The problem is £30,000 for a Citroen is a lot of money. Its no doubt a fine car, but people see 'Citroen' and '£30,000' and think 'Hmmm, No'!!!

I saw a mint DS in France a little while ago and it was fantastic. Citroen have made some great cars.

Two questions about the DS, why put the gear stick (it was an Auto I think) on top of the steering cowling and the other, why put the radio on the passenger side???

I also liked the CX (the C6 reminds me greatly of this car for some reason) and the SM was a beast.

Did any of you guys ever work on any of these older Citroens???

They are not cars you see in the UK very often.

Love the new interior on the C6, especially those rear ones.

Hi there

From your description the DS you saw was a semi-automatic or hydraulique model - this version has a conventional clutch though the operation of the clutch and the changing of gears is carried out by the high pressure hydraulic system. The speed of gear changes can be adjusted to suit driving style. The wand is on the top of the dash so the driver can change gear without taking a hand off the steering wheel. It's a fantastic system and when set up properly is a joy to use.

There is also a very rare fully automatic version with a Borg Warner 35 3 speed box that is controlled from a wand on top of the dash too, this option was not introduced until 1971 and although it was never officially offered in the UK there are a handful of RHD BW autos.

I would think that the DS you saw would be a sixties model - the radio was in front of the passenger because the dash design meant that there was no room anywhere else. When the dash was re-designed the radio slot was moved to the centre, this slot was not a conventional size (much smaller)and manufacturers such as Continental Edison produced radios especially for the DS.

I agree with you re CX and C6, they undoubtedly share the same DNA - for example the C6 concave rear window echoes that same CX feature.

In my humble opinion I think certain car magazines and press are totaly biased to certain marques of car.A few years ago What car did a group test which included a Saab 95 and a BMW 5 series. The Saab was best in every way except for resale value. So which won the test? The beemer because you got more for it when you sold it on!Now if the magazine said the beemer was shite and don't waste yor money on it then value plummets and people buy the Saab.Think of Clarkson and the Vectra, that was soon replaced. So if the C6 is very good then the press should say so and keep values up.

Bought a C6 Exclusive in March 08 - 2 years old - 32k- £17500. Its a nicer car than anything german.

Wow what a bargain. This example has gone to prove wait out for a used one.

The one my Dealer had as a Demo got sold to a retired Vicar. The dealer told me Only because he had a heart scare so he sold his 2nd Home in France and bought the C6 to treat himself.

Lucky Vicar hey.lol

 I was up at Croxdale citroen the other day obtaining some parts for my brother in law's C5 and noticed the C6 in the showroom. I was told by the service manager that they haven't sold a single one yet and they dropped £3,000 off the launch price!

It surprised me but when I thought about it and what it's competing against its no wonder.

I know they are heavily discounting them now in order to get them out which means some will make it on the road and of course depreciation will hit it hard because of the subsidies. It's good news for buyers, bad for sellers eventually though.

Depends who you buy one from. Dealers tend to be more expensive anyway than non Franchise Dealers

Also my first post, bought a used C6 2.7HDI Exclusive in July 2007.

It follows a list of various cars Peugeot 607, Renauly Vel Satis, Volvo S80, Citroen C5. It is the most comfortable car out of the others. Done 35K miles and it has never missed a beat.

The service staff at my local dealership are great and it is still very rare to see another C6, I have seen only around 8 others in the UK over the last year.

A great car very unique a joy to drive
