BUT on way home noticed climate control dont work I can press the ac button and the light commes on, the engine revs dips a little as you expect when the ac kicks in.. however the blower never runs, turned it to auto or max and everything in between nothing.. anyone got any ideas? this is my first xantia is this a common fault? thanks in advance.. wookey Quote
DickieG Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Its quite often due to a faulty ignition switch as the fan is fed directly from there. Try wiggling the key in the lock or better still remove the column housing and wiggle the wires direct, also feel for excess heat on the switch itself, indicating faulty switch contacts. The other common fault with the fan motor is faulty diodes, however when this happen I understand that the fan only runs on maximum speed. Quote
