C4VTS Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 It appears the fuel has an ethanol content which may damage O2 sensors. I am on Orange, so should not affect me. :D Is this only petrol engines with the problem? Quote
hertsnminds Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I assume by oxygen sensors they are meaning lambda sensors. Might be worth looking at this site if you have the problem... http://www.lambda-sensor.co.uk/ IanBalck 55 VTR+ Quote
billynibbles Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Makes an interesting contrast though doesn't it? One the one hand we have the MD of Network Rail almost immediately putting his hand up to causing a train crash, whilst Tescos and Morrisons first reaction is to deny all knowledge of serving up duff petrol, in the face of overwhelming evidence that it came from them (and a few other independants I gather). Oh, I forgot, they've a share price to protect. By the way, I love the current advice - drain your tank. And do what with it pray, bearing in mind that it's illegal to store domestically in large amounts? 60 litres would keep my mower in gas for about a decade at the rate I cut the grass. Now that the finger seems to be pointing towards a silicon-compound contamination, at least we now now that we should never polish the insides of our exhausts. Quote
