shallishanti? Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Has anyone used any of these: Central Motors, Bedford Peter Hedges ,St Ives Borocars, Peterborough Duxford Service Station Any experiences, good or bad? Any recommendations for customer service? Just trying to find a decent dealer for parts or servicing. No axe to grind. Quote
shallishanti? Posted March 3, 2007 Author Posted March 3, 2007 Well the nice man at Duxford was awake enough to answer the phone this morning after I finished nightshift. Very friendly and helpful. Even seemed to understand which parts I wanted from my semi-conscious description. And left a detailed message on the answerphone as requested. Parts now ordered and will be in on Tuesday - even had some of them in stock which was a pleasant surpise. How is it that car parts are so cheap compared to bike parts? I'll maybe try them for a service when it's due, and spend the day at the Air Museum. Quote
Carlos Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 I don't know where you are based, but try Chevronics in Arlesey (Herts/Beds border). They really know their Citroens (and Pugs and Fiats), and specialize in restoring old Citroens. Both my 2005 C5 estate, and wifes 2002 Saxo are serviced by them, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Any servicing done by them will NOT affect your warranty, and they are a good bit cheaper than a Citroen dealer. Here is their web address:http://www.chevronics.co.uk/Pages/001Chevronics/company.html Its just a shame I have to deal with the muppets at my local dealer for warranty work! Quote
shallishanti? Posted March 5, 2007 Author Posted March 5, 2007 Thanks Carlos. May give them a try come service time. Quote
shallishanti? Posted March 6, 2007 Author Posted March 6, 2007 I had cause to visit my dealer today and collect some parts so I enquired about service costs. My next service is 75k miles, which the dealer quoted at £362. Chevronics have quoted £230, so methinks the C5 will be going there! Quote
shallishanti? Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 Well the car went to Chevronics for it's 75k service. Their price was well below that of the main dealers. Car was ready on time and all work done. New rear silencer also fitted and advised rear tyres needed soon and probably cat pipe not long after, otherwise all ok. Recommended. Quote

shallishanti? Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 diagnostic check and software updates???????? diagnostic check - I believe so. software update - no idea. no idea if one would be needed. is it worth the extra £120? Quote
72dudes Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Because I don't believe they would carry out the full service for that money. I agree, and it's impossible to determine where the garage actually is unless you book the service!! What's the betting it's Nationwide Autocentre - that's right, the ones who suddenly discover that your car needs £500 worth of repairs as well as the service? No personal experience but plenty of stories from people I know. Beware these people, use an independent Citroen specialist instead or a trusted local garage who aren't frightened by C5s. Quote
kfk Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Wouldnt mind but Nationwide have a habit of booking cars in with us just recently...dunno if there resident Citroen 'Expert' is on holiday. Quote
shallishanti? Posted October 24, 2007 Author Posted October 24, 2007 kfk do you do the full service for Nationwide or a lite version? Just wondered as their prices are so low.....would be nice to get a full dealer service at that money!! Quote
