strapup Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 HIYA WHILST WASHING MY BELOVED BERLINGO LAST WEDS, I NOTICED THAT THE ROOF RAILS ON THE GLASS ROOF HAS CRACKED PAINT AND BADLY FADED, I TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL CITROEN DEALER FOR THEM TO INVESTIGATE FOR A FEW DAYS. THAY HAVE SAID THAT THE ROOF NEED REPLACING, AS THE RAILS/BARS CANNOT BE REPAINTED AS THEY ARE LIKE A GRAPHITE FINISH TO THEM AND IF THEY REPAINTED THEM IT MAY CAUSE OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE ROOF, SO CITROEN UK, HAVE ASKED FOR PHOTOS TO BE TAKEN SO THAY CAN DECIDE WHAT TO DO, IVE BEEN TOLD THAT IF THEY ARE GOING TO REPLACE THE ROOF IT WILL HAVE TO GO TO MANCHESTER FOR A SPECIAL JIG TO BE USED TO REMOPVE AND REPLACE THE WHOLE ROOF. AT A COST OF £1500 UNDER WARRANTY SOUNDS ABIT EXTREME FOR FADED AND CRACKED ROOF RAILS, IM WAITING A RESPONSE FROM MY LOCAL GARAGE WHO HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFULL SO FAR. TODAY THEY TOOK MORE PICTURES. HAS ANYBODY ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM OR SIMILAR ? ROB FROM SUNNY BEXLEYHEATH (WELL IT IS TODAY ) ;) Quote
kfk Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Recently had a modutop roof replaced for a customer due to water leaks. It isnt something they let the dealers do as it has to be cut out of the car and rebonded back into place. Ours had to go to Gefco at Sheerness for repair......send me a PM which dealer you using?
