mark_lar Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Hello all. My dad has a Citroen C5 estate. The car is fine whilst it is being driven but we were sitting a cafe the other day and we could see it was bobbing from left to right, up and down. Like it was trying to level itself out but the ground was perfectly flat. We sat there for 20 miniutes watching it but in the end went out to start it so the battery didn't go flat. Is this a sensor fault or a ECU failure? Its a 52 reg C5 estate. Thanks Mark_lar Quote

Doesn't do any harm, and gives up after about 30 mins anyway to save the battery ! P Quote
Randombloke Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Did you lock the car? I now always lock the car as soon as I'm done as it will start the self revelling action as soon as it is unlocked and does not stop until it is locked. Locking the car from the outside via key or wireless turns off the self levelling AFAICT. Lock the car and see if this cures the problem. Quote
Randombloke Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Another solution: Take the car through its full range of height settings several times. I suspect the height correctors may get sticky as they no longer get put through their whole range of movement since anti sink vales were fitted to Xantias etc in the mid 1990s. Worth a go? Also are you sure of LDS fluid level in the reservoir? Also worth a check? Quote
Guest rowls Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Have known the BHI (C5 equivalent of a hp pump) to play up on these, can be quite costly though! Quote
mark_lar Posted August 4, 2007 Author Posted August 4, 2007 Thanks! Sorry for the delay in replying. Been on holiday! Sometimes, the ride level height indicator goes out whilst driveing, when you change the height, it comes back on again for the correct level then oges off. Is this still a software fault? Bassrock Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 hi all, It's a glitch, mine does it occasionallly, I just reverse, straighten up and park again. Chances of a "highly" skilled citroen tech fixing this at less than £65 per hour are Zilch. Just live with it. Bassrock Quote

Mark_lar What ride level height indicator? You mean the display on the dash? Mine is never on while driving, only when you mess with the adjustment buttons. Quote
