mat1978 Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Hey eveyone, My first post on here so Hi! I have a 03 Xsara 2L HDI My question is regarding the brakr/clutch fluid. I was going to top up today with some normal Dot 4, but read on the back of the bottle its not suitable for some Citroens. Looked in handbook and it just says use 'synthetic brake fluid'. Can I use the universal Dot 4 or does it have to be something special? Many TIA  Mat Quote
Johndouglas Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 When it says not suitable for some Citroens, it refers to the hydraulic Citroens like BX, Xantia, and XM's which use LHM as hydraulic fluid. Use brake fluid on those, and you'd ruin them. DOT 4 would be OK to use. Quote
