hi there all . have just put in a new battery in key but the remote still not working ,Have tried switching on the ignition and operating the remote but still no joy. Any ideas? thanks sie

The fault is normally due to a break in the printed circuit board paticularly at the point where the infra red eye attaches to the board. This is due to the key being dropped etc.

 

If you're handy with a soldering iron then you may be able to remake the joint with success.

I just fixed mine with a new switch that I scrounged from an old TV chassis. Test it first with a continuity meter as there will be some resistance in the circuit. The red led still does not light though.
