hertsnminds Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 All this talk of Renaults made me go into one of their showrooms to look at a Megane (funny how the French gave this car a Welsh name :( ) CC. Dealer quoted me close to 18k for the CC which I found at various car supermarkets for just under 14k  but I was offered 6,600 for my Pluriel. The salesman could only offer me a 2 litre turbo to test drive (not the 1.6 I could afford) and would not let me have a drive with the roof down. He then asked me my reasons for not wanting to buy the car right then. Needless to say I won't be taking them up on their (not so generous) offer. As for my thoughts on the car, I found the central storage bin obstructed the gearlever and the "aircraft style" handbrake not very nice to use. Top of the windscreen was too close to my head and whilst the almost all glass roof did let in a lot of light I didn't seem to be sitting under it. Whilst the boot space was not too bad with the roof down it was practically impossible to actually get to anything trapped under the open roof. Ian Orange 03 Senso Quote

Also the Exclusive is a 1.4 and I prefer the 1.6 engine, so I would probably stick with what I have. Ian Orange 03 Senso Quote
lesw Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Having owned a 206cc for nearly a year now we've had no problems whatsoever with it apart from a leak in the first week quickly fixed by the dealer, Blacklers of Torquay, and considering the downpours we've had he did a good job! I do miss the Pluriel with the random lock-ins, the boot that refuses to open, the random car-alarms, the doors that don't shut, the roof that won't go back and the dealer that doesn't care.......... All I've had is a year of care-free open top motoring with a roof that can be closed with the touch of a button if it rains..............I agree about the leather seats though, not something I would have wanted but they are standard fitment, not so bad when you can close the roof so easily. Oh, and I was told recently that the dealer now has a sign up saying that if you aren't totally happy with your new car within 30 days you can have your money back (as opposed to the nearly a year that it took me) so maybe I did achieve something! CE08LDB Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Im Citroen mad. Citroen is my hobby but I do have 3 other favorate cars which are Peugeot 206/206CC and The New Vauxhall Tigra is a nice car but 206CC is the best out of the 3. Its funny how Citroens partner Peugeot can build better cars im so disapointed Quote

michtatt Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I have just bought a used Pluriel 1.6 Senso 54 reg with under 6,000 miles on the clock. Marked up at £7,995, I got it for £6,195 after part-exchanging my old-style R reg Tigra, which frankly was in a bad old way and smoking out of it's rear end like I was cooking a barbecue in the exhaust system. Citreon also threw in the spider kit, and some mats. All in all I think it was a good deal - but I would have been reluctant to buy a new Pluriel and watch it depreciate before my eyes. Despite all the stories of leakages and problems I have decided to take my chance and I am hoping for many happy days motoring. Michelle Quote

hertsnminds Posted February 1, 2006 Author Posted February 1, 2006
Citreon also threw in the spider kit
Putting on the rain cover is good fun, after you have tried it a couple of times you might decide not to bother <_< Having somewhere to hang the arches up when you take them off is probably a good thing, mine used to sit on the lounge floor. You will certainly have fun getting used to the sensodrive, just give yourself extra time to pull out at junctions and roundabouts. Ian Black 55 VTR+ Quote
michtatt Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Well, so far I have nothing to quibble about with my new(ish) motor. I've been anxiously awaiting the rain and it has come down in buckets today and no leaks to fret about - just the slightest hint of dampness around the seal where the arch meets the main body above the driver's door - but I wonder if this might be because the rubber seal on the outside seems to have got 'snagged' and isn't fully sealing the gap. Beginning to get used to the Senso-drive. Not quite what I expected, as the car is frequently in 5th gear before 30 mph, which isn't very helpful when it changes just as you are coming up to a corner, or goes from 2nd to 3rd as you are halfway round a roundabout with a lorry on your tail - but I'm sure practise will make perfect! All in all I'm very pleased with my acquisition and can't wait for warmer days.Michelle x Quote
wozza Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Keep hearing these stories about the sensodrive system is it really that bad? Im personally a fan of manuals i just feel more incontrol of my car but some of the semi auto boxes on some cars i would gladly drive the new golf one for a start since its quicker than the manual version. You must be using it in AUTO mode, try switching to manual (just flip a paddle) then you get much more control of which gear is selected. Keep hearing these stories about the sensodrive system is it really that bad?Sensodrive isn't that bad I found you just had to learn a new driving style. Holding the car on the accelerator takes some getting used to as does not knowing when the clutch will be engaged. It feels like you have less control because of this. But if you allow more time and give yourself more space (between cars) then things are nice and smooth. I found it made me a more cautious driver. The only time I really found it a problem was a wet cold morning when the system decided to go into snow mode as I was about to pull onto a roundabout then it was dangerous as my expectation of wht the car was about to do and what it actually did where completely different. plurielzze Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Value does not worry me. :) I aim to keep the Pluriel for a long time. My other car was traided in after 12 years for almost £1000. The Pluriel was bought with a 25% discount due to the car being actively used in shows while raising money for various charities. The dealership thought it would be a good publicity move for them and Citroen. The car is going to be kept for at least 12 years as the body should last until then. I believe in getting valur from any big purchace especially when depreciation takes place. :D Quote
