hertsnminds Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 and the answer to that question on the insurance application any modifications? will be interesting to read. IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
idlerobbo Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Yeah I was thinking that too! The insurace company would no doubt hike up the price with all that kit... What's the secret, what's the secret? I have the same car as you. There is a fine line between cool and chav, careful you don't cross it. Just my opinion. Things like reverse camera = cool but neon lights, bodykits = chav. Just my opinion though!! Quote
idlerobbo Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 p.s. any chance of pics? whats the tailpipe like, and what extra did you get out of remapping (was it angel tuning?). What difference have the red brakes and filter made? Quote
c4owner Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 .............. what extra did you get out of remapping (was it angel tuning?)............on a 1.6 or 2.0 HDi you can expect +35bhp from an Angel re map but more importantly a far more flexible engine BTW a re map made no difference to my insurance (just renewed in May) but there again I'm not 18 years old Quote

Remap made a good bit of difference to high end power but with regards to acceleration pretty much the same tbh not MUCH difference but a bit. Brakes only paint and air filter is only a fanel filter, itll just keep the engine cleaner basically. Less ***oops*** getting in. The neons will look good, and be subtle beside if i dont like them its not hard to remove :) Ill take pics tomorrow when the suspension is dropped. Youll see its not chavvy Quote
Smurf Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Ill take pics tomorrow when the suspension is dropped. Youll see its not chavvy Looks OK. Alloys wouldn't be my first choice though - Also are you going to colour-code the trim running down the side? Agree neon lights could turn the car into a ChavWagon. I think the day I see a Coup with neons under it, I'll drive straight to the car dealer to sell mine. Chav by association... Quote

My thoughts exactly, It would mean that the prices really have depreciated too much and the car was cheap enough for chavs to buy and then spend all their wages each month buying modifications from motosave. The alloys on that picture are pretty horrific too, It took me a moment to realise that's not actually your car - you were just showing the bumper (I hope!?). What's the 'thing' on the roof? Quote

The neons are not going in below the car they are going into the footwells i believe, aslong as the neon tubes are well hidden all that will be seen is the neon glow when the door is opened. Quote

True, It's just my personal opinion. I think where I live I see far too many blacked out corsas and saxos with a blue neon glow from the inside of the car ... Just screams out chav to me. Just my opinion though. :-) Quote

VTSowner Posted June 5, 2007 Author Posted June 5, 2007 any chance of a shot of the tailpipe and where you got it from/fitting etc.. .....its a powerflow tail pipe, it had to be welded on by a local company... heres the picshttp://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z72/flump89/20052007143.jpghttp://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z72/flump89/15052007120.jpghttp://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z72/flump89/15052007121.jpg Quote
Smurf Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Ok - got confused by the photos.. sorry fella!... Have to admit your VTS looks very cool lowered! And the tail pipe looks the mutts nuts. Currently Understated Cool rather than loud-brash, Chav'ness.. Quote
wozza Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 They didn't do a good job on the cut out for the exhaust though. Looks a bit rough. Id be taking it back and telling them to get it perfect if it was me. Quote

wozza Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Sorry i didnt see wozza's post  Spot the perfectionists amongst us. Quote
VTSowner Posted June 6, 2007 Author Posted June 6, 2007 Spot the perfectionists amongst us. I was the same. Its only noticable on close inspection. I had use wet and dry and a file to sand it down slightly. Problem with using another trim is the heat the exhaust creates and it will only melt something touching it, i cant fill it in Quote

I lost parking sensor audio warning, but still have visual. I lost steering controls but am actually sourcing a connects2 adapter. For speakers. You need 17cm components for the front, and 13cm for the back. I actually have 17s in the back but i had to cut them to fit. Alot of needless work! I did the speakers myself. Very simple. But i amped mine up so alot of cables went in Quote

Chris mine are lowered 30mm. I have a friend who lowered his 35/45mm i prefer the look of that one but with all the extra weight in my car it is sitting nicely. £50 for the springs from europerformance.com Quote
BandyQuill Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 thanks for the advice :) will have to wait till the enew allys get here so i can then find out how much i can push it. Chris Quote
