Guest Gee Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 sorted!!! but iv'e just tried to wire and it made the sound like it was working for about 3seconds.... then all of a sudden just stoped, now it wont do nout! and iv'e checked all my fuses... i really don't wanna give in and fork out and extra £40 so the ppl at halfords can mess about with it! kfk Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 So have you got a power feed: yellow wire with black mark on end - from fuse 8 - constant power feed Blue wire - from fuse 2 - with ignition on Orange wire - from fuse 12 - with lights on Does your cigarette lighter work? If memory serves me correctly the cigar lighter runs of the same fuse as the radio, and turning up my JVC unit would draw more current than the standard fuse liked.....hence it would blow the fuse. Guest Gee Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 it's all good... ive attached my power to batery to the blue wire... but now my blowers dont work! the to batery (positive) is connected and the ground (negative) wire is connected to the yellow with brown...when there connected for the first 5 seconds the head unit sounds like its working but then just stops and i cant get nothing from the head unit. (batery icon shows up then disappears whilst head unit is making sound)... but that still leaves me with the yellow with green mark wire not connected...and still no tunes... i had to cut the blue wire... and attach the to ignition wire to it using a block! im so confused as to why its not working! Guest Gee Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 wey hey!!! done it!!! word of advice for all the other people trying to fit a head unit without an earth wire... don't attach the "to ignition" to the blue wire but attach it to the "to batery" wire on the head unit and then to the "live feed" and then your negative to negative (ground), but dont forget to remove the front of your head unit when your not driving or listening to music!!! sorted another problem solved thanks to the members on this forum!!! especially thanks to KFK!!!
