mycitroen04 Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Hi, I too have just come across the exact same problem with my heater fan. Unfortuanately I don't have a solution as yet. I have managed to remove the control switches (for air flow, heater and blower control knobs) with the attatched pcb board unit on the rear. I have had the whole unit tested and there doesn't seem to be any problems with it. I - like you, turned my blower onto the auto position and left it there for the remainder of my journey. It wasn't until I drove the car the following day that I noticed that I could no longer control the blower setting or even switch it off! The blower itself seems to be permanently on full power, it's very noisy and annoying. However, I am able to turn the blower switch upto the MAX position, resulting in the increase in power from the blower. It's the only position on the dial that the blower results in any change in power.I have read something about a faulty resistor regarding this problem, on this forum. The chap has mentioned that he bought one from a Citroen Dealer for £10. Don't know where it goes though, or how to get to or even test it.Anyone reading this - please help!!! Quote

Can anybody help? sound like the risistor passenger side inside where the pollen filter is located under the glove box you will see it pluged into the air tubing turn antoclock wise and pull back to get out difficult to remove the first time may need screw driver to push it hard to get at as well. find in scrap yard Quote

Jonno Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 any pics anywhere I cant seem to find it http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j102/lincsniva/spares001.jpg Unfortunately not a great pic of the control unit for the blower unit but it gives you some idea what it looks like for a mk11 xsaraThe unit is located within the motor housing and that can be accessed from under the dashboard/glovebox area. The motor is held in by three 6mm headed screws (one of thems a clat to get to) but once out the unit can easily be changed out. The motor can be removed from its holder - once the connecting cables have been removed - by undoing a couple of cross headed screws. All in all probably about a half hours job -- the only bad bit is the price of genuine citroen parts at around just over £100 !!!!!!!!! Quote
