Hello,

Having just joined, I wonder if anone can help with this.

Coincidentally (I hope) since I had a new front tyre fitted and both front wheels balanced, on slight left or right turns of the s wheel when maneuvering what is best described as a momentary impolite noise can be heard from the steering system (power).

I jacked it up and had a good look round both sides and can't see anything out of place.

On the road it feels like new and handles extremely well due to the new tyre.

I have a few theories, which I hope are wrong, but has anyone else actually experienced the same occurance ?

Kristian.

Cehck the connecting rods between antiroll bar and front shock absorbers (can be seen in the attached photo) - the ball joints tend to get loose, which in turn causes unpleasent noise.

Hi Shemer,

Many thanks for your reply. I will have a closer look at the anti roll bar links. It would be great if it was just that. I was begining to wonder about steering racks and rams which, despite their complexity, are not that expensive by comparision.

However, the level of work is quite extensive and I would much rather change the anti roll bar links than the rack !

All the best,

Kristian.
