Guest roy collingwood Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 I was thinking of changing the head-unit in my c3, I know its on the 'network' so needs to go into a dealer to set-it-up, but what do we do about the various car settings that are changed using the buttons on the cd player, do they get transferred to the new player, or can they not be changed after? roy Quote
Guest Gee Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 Well Roy!!! If Citroen are going to be fitting the new head unit, then obviously all the settings should work, thats what the clever little people do at citroen... you did'nt need an answere to your question.... you just needed 1: common sense 2: a friend 3: think about what your asking before you ask it.... " im going to get a new citroen head unit, will all the settings still work" DUHHHHHHHHHH Quote

If your having a standard unit replaced with another standard unit it wont affect any of the controls. If however you are replacing the standard unit with and aftermarket alternative you will find that the button to operate the computer display is likely to dissapear with it. in this instance to change the clock you would have to plug your old radio back in. So whilst you will be able to improve your audio pleasure, unfortunately some of the controls will be lost in the process. Quote

I better stick with the standard unit. (at least it now plays MP3's) Quote
MartinB Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 thanx, thats what I thought would happen! I better stick with the standard unit. (at least it now plays MP3's) Any idea how much it costs to replace a C3 radio/cassette with a new standard Citroen headunit with CD player at a dealer (i.e. cost of unit and fitting)? Also does the standard unit play mp3? Quote
