Hello to all members.

I will get right to it.

The multi funtion LED display on the dash of my Berlingo Multispace (53 model) has become so dim that I cannot read it during the day.

Q1 Is the brightness adjustable and somehow it has been altered (nothing in manual)

Q2 Is the display back lit by conventional lamps that have failed (which I suspect)

Q3 If the above is true how do you access the lamps without wrecking the dash.

Your enlightened knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks

There are two press buttons on the face of the panel, one resets the trip, the other (left IIRC) adjusts the brightness. Continually press the button and it will cycle from dim to bright etc.

We are talking about the same display aren't we. I am refering to the cars central LED diplay that tells you radio info, warnings, time etc.

I will try holding the left button down anyway just incase we are!!!!!

Sorry I thought you meant the instrument panel  .

I'm not sure whether the central display is backlit by standard bulbs, but to gain access to it to take a look, lift up the the cover at the front where it meets the vertical section of the dash. The panel then lifts up/towards the rear of the car.

Hi,

One of the bulbs on my display seems to have failed and I've tried lifting the front of the cover but it won't move!

I don't want to end up causing any damage....Any tips?

Cheerz. :)

It is removed that way, you'll probably need to insert a small screwdriver from the side where it meets the main dash.

dickieg is right as usual. the cover is quite tight. give it a gentle bang with the heel of your hand and it will lift off. theres 2x 20torx screws to remove and 2 bulbs in the back. there the capless ones that pull out of the holders.

Cheers for the tips to all concerned. I will have a go at that this week and let you know if I was successful.

Work completed successfully for a cost of £2.92. Central display surround panel prised up and back to the rear of the car as described in previous post. This thread finished.
