 oh no... i'm gonna have to see how far i can make that last one bar go. I only get 330-340 miles and then it starts its beepy flashy dance. Much preferred analogue gauges to this new digital thingy.

Should say though that the car hasn't even been on the motorway yet, just does short, stop-start journeys in towns etc.

I'm getting 60.77mpg average over the last 3 tankfuls. Average over 1 year is 57.59mpg. Best (last tankful) is 64.63mpg. Almost all my driving is 15 mile commute to work, roughly 5 miles urban 30mph / 5 miles A road and 5 miles motorway. Keep speed down to 50mph on A roads and 55-60mph on motorway.

So far I've been getting 44mpg, but 90% of that is short journeys around town :D

I'm sure it would be well into the fifties give a few long runs, but the family always want to take our Berlingo :)

I've just done the maths, reckon I get about 38mpg. I'd say I do about 30% town driving, 30% A-Roads and 40% motorway. Get about 280-300 miles before having to fill up.
Strewth! I've done track days in mine and never got anywhere near that low!

How did you find it on the track? I assume you took the outside edges off the front tyrespretty quickly, but were the brakes up to it?

Was lapping the Combe within 2 seconds of my mates new Golf GTi, so i was pretty happy.

I'm glad you didn't try his car, I'm sure you would've really embarrassed him then

I'd have kicked his pussy ar5e!

Mos track day drivers haven't a clue. They usually justify it with some twaddle like "we can find the limts of out cars...blah blah" but all they do is make the same mistakes as they do on the road, but rather faster.

Braking in corners, overlapping braking and gear changes, non-existant appreciation of lines etc are all but universal.

You should get on average 58 MPG for 35 LITRE TANK, thats based on 18 months driving.

If you get a strong wind heading towards you, it will go down quite dramitic as a small engined car needs to apply more foot to the floor to counteract wind.

I got that heavy winds straight on going to the Highlands on holiday last week, and my fuel consumption was way down, but that seems to be the only condition where MPG is poor.

Each notch on the gauge is roughly a gallon.

When you hit the last notch before empty, it gives a few audiable beeps, which makes you jump, later the notch flashes

Again I would base that one notch as one gallon left, but I always look for a petrol station by then, as I would never leave the tank as low as that, though I have done 20 miles on a flashing notch looking for a petrol station, but its a cold sweat feeling !

The handbook states when beeps operate there are 5 litres left, thats just over a gallon.

Constant flashing means 3 litres left, and then you start worrying.
