Hi All,

I noticed yesterday that the two lugs securing the top cambelt cover have become brittle and broken off.

No problem I thought, just order a new one up from the dealer.

However, when I went to pick it up, it was quite a bit different to the one on the car.

Apparently, the covers have been revised since our 93 model and it seems that you have to replace all three.

The cost is not bad (for Citroen) but there is quite a bit of work involved, especially as I have got PAS.

I picked one up from a scrapper, but this a bit frayed around the edges as well.

Does anyone know if these have ever been available as an aftermarket part ?

Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, how did you resolve it.

All the best,

Kristian.

Not only may the covers change design over the run of a particular engine, but also the method of holding them in place. ie: bolts may have replaced spring clips. So although you might get a new set of covers, your engine may not have the fixings to hold them.
