th2003 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I have a 3 and a bit year old Zsara Picasso which has done just 19500 miles (I live very close to work!), but have just had diagnosed a "knackered steering rack". Has anyone else heard of such a problem after just 19500 miles. And just how do you "Knacker" a steering rack?? Any light on the problem or advice on how to complain about this to the dealer would be greatly appreciated (assuming it was not caused by driver misuse, not that I have used it much!!). Quote

Knackered isnt particularly good adjective to describe any failed component.....to establish why the steering rack has failed it would be good to know what faults the vehicle is demonstrating to come to the conclusion its 'knackered'.So what exactly is the steeing doing/not doing to cause a diagnosis of knackered?
