al8888 Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Hi all,I have a 98 xantia that apparently had an immobiliser problem. It doesnt have a keypad and the immobiliser light comes on and goes off once the ignition is switched on. The engine turns but doesnt start. When i got it the water inthe expansion tank was non existant so filled up and also topped up the the oil. I have since tried with another battery and it turns once again with no joy. btw the glow plug light comes n and goes out. I have since checked the fuse under the dash and there is a purple relay type socket above a white long female connector. both empty and in side the engine bay there is a green round relay socket at the left side also empty. there are holes to the right for what I presume are other relays if the wiring was present. The owner guide and haynes manuls 93-98 seem to omit any details reagarding this. Is there any info on these things and is this a red herring and the car is infact a lemon? Thanks in advanceal Quote
Johndouglas Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Have you checked that diesel is getting to the injectors? How does the primer bulb feel? Quote
al8888 Posted September 16, 2007 Author Posted September 16, 2007 Thx for the reply, There isnt a primer bulb on the left of the engine bay where it should be, just a straight tube from the fuel filter i guess. How would I check the injectors? There is half a tank of diesel Have you checked that diesel is getting to the injectors? How does the primer bulb feel? Quote

Was wondering if anyone had experimented with the obd connection. Local citroen want £35 to look + £29.99 to reprogram + £11 because I dont have the sliver card. thats if it is the immobiliser :D oh and +VAT for good measure. Any advice gratefully recieved Quote

Then they towed it down the road and jump started it. They said there was air in the fuel and opened a valve to bleed which sorted it out. Engine start well now just need to put it thru and MOT Quote
