GBR1177 Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Does anyone know what this could be? My C5 110 HDi estate has been very good but has had the odd electrical glitch- opening tailgate window failure, door lock solenoid- the usual C5 faults. The latest is that all the 3 power sockets are dead ( curiously the cigar lighter still works as a cigar lighter but won't power an accessory plugged in to it!) . Also the switch in the boot to adjust the loading height is dead. THe fuses are all OK and the other bits on the same circuit like the front window motors are OK.I've tried disconnecting the battery and touching the disconnected cables together as a sort of re-set but still no joy.I don't know if the socket problem and the switch issue are linked but I don't know what to look for next.Has anyone met this sort of thing with a C5 before. Randombloke Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I had this, my cigarette lighter wouln't power sat nav etc. found out it was my sat nav 12v supply plug that wasn't long enough to go down into the cigerette lighter socket. HTH The same for me - the cigarette lighter requires a very long adaptor, you can get these with an adjustable angle on the second section. The other two power outlets do not require the plug to be as long. Quote

Thanks for thatI was trusting the handbook! I did find one of the small 15 A fuses blown- certainly not the the one the handbook says- I won't trust that again. I have changed the fuse and things are OK now. I must have put something drawing too much current into the accessory socket to make it blow. Thanks again for your help.Graeme Quote
