Hi there.

I've got a 97 R Reg Auto SX with an old style keypad immobiliser. It's recently started intermittently working; sometimes it'll accept the code, others it won't, the green light is sometimes staying on for a few days.

I've spoken to a few auto electricians who all said this was a common problem but they can't touch these immobilisers! Anyone got any idea's?!

I don't want to fork out the money to citroen to fix it if I don't have to!

Cheers :(

start the car, unplug the imobilizer, throw it away (or just leave it there unplugged)......car will now start without needing a code every time you use it.

Word of warning:

if you are going to disconnect your keypad, put a sticker on the underside of it, or on the engine ecu to indicate what the code was before you disconnected it.......because one day you or someone else will plug it back in......and it will lock.....you wont know the code and you will need to buy a new injection ecu.....which will effectively render the vehicle as scrap.
