bolt1977 Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Hi, I have been having problems with my C3, it has been back to Citroen more times then I care to mention, the first issue was that once the car stopped the engine i.e normal stop/start behaviour it wouldn't restart again anyway they eventually resolved this problem after 12 months of saying there was no problem! apparently they replaced the inlet manifold? But as soon as we picked the car up the stop/start operation fails to operate at all, it has been back this morning, again being told there is nothing wrong and that the stop/start function does not work when the weather is cold? seems abit strange to me considering that over the last 2 winters it has operated as you would expect (Bar the not starting again!).Anyway the question is are they correct in saying that the system does not operate when the weather is cold or are they just fobbing me off? Thanks in advance. Quote
kfk Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 If you have the heater on and heated rear window switched on.....to name but a couple of things the stop start function will not function......with all the c3 range those functions only work when the engine is running.....and on stop start it would have safety implications ......from memory i seem to remember the engine has tobe a certain temperature, the the battery has tobe in good condition.......and the battery under the passenger seat alsohas to be functioning correctly.....anyone checked that one? Guest roy collingwood Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 my stop/start has been working this winter so far, though when engin is cold/heater on etc, it only stops for a second or so, then restarts. Quote
bolt1977 Posted December 19, 2007 Author Posted December 19, 2007 Hi thanks for the advice, we have tried your sugestions and still no joy, the car was back at citroen yesterday so they checked the battery and said it was in good condition, tried again this morning with no electrical items on and engine temp up to operating temperature (my journey to work is about an hour) and it still didn't cut out as it should, before it had the inlet manifold changed it used to cut out as you would expect even on the coldest of days.Anyway thanks again for your help, guess its back to Citroen..... again!
