Hi all

My recently acquired ZX Aura 1.9d appears to have a remote locking sensor housing in the roof but there was no mention if remote locking from the seller of the thing. Did the Aura have remote locking? Is the sensor housing a dummy? If it is fitted, can I get a transmitter that will work?

Cheers for all the help so far.

I would have thought the Aura should have been fitted with remote locking. My sons 1.4 elation has the receiver "Dome" fitted but has nothing behind it. Take the wee panel down and have a look (I think the screws are behind the courtesy light). If there's a gizmo behind the dome then it has it.

Unlike Xantias which had the "Plip" built into the key, the ZX had a separate "plip" controller on the keyring. Any "Plip" should do if you can find one (or 2) at a scrappy as there is a procedure to match them to the receiver behind the dome. If it's anything like a Xantia (Mk1 with IR controll) it involves switching on to the aux position and aiming both plips (Very close) at the dome within 10 sec of each other. ZXs may only allow one plip though. Don't know really and I don't suppose you need more than one anyway! Ask at your dealership, they may have some left and they'll tell you properly how to pair it with the receiver. Cheers. Hope this helps.

The remote control on a ZX is ordered in accordance with a code number on the reciever in the vehicle.......you cannot get any ZX key and program it to the vehicle, and neither will your dealer be able to do it.

OK! We Live, We Learn! Would have thought they might have been programmable though! OOPS! :D

Thanks for the info guys. I guess I'll just have to make do with a key!

I suppose, in theory, I could get a matched set from a scrappy and replace the receiver behind the dome?

Anyway, thanks again

Yeah. Reckon that should work. Might be worth the effort if you can get the relevant bits cheaply. Cheers
