Guest katherinej Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 My windscreen washer has stopped working (not making any sound and no water coming out) and I wondered if anyone knew how I could fix it myself?? I have no car fixing experience but if it's not too hard I could try as I can't really afford to take it to a garage and it's that mucky road/windscreen time of year! Thanks! Quote
kfk Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 either you or someone handy might want to check the fuse box in the engine compartment.....will be found next to the battery......think its fuse 14.....and if it has blown, its probably caused by the screen washer pump freezing......so go get some screen wash additive to reduce the chance of it happening again.....let us know how you get on.....Merry Xmas Quote
Guest katherinej Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 Thank you, I'll try that! Would it just be a normal fuse like in the house or is it a special car one? If it's a special car one, where can I get a new one? Thank you and merry christmas to you too! either you or someone handy might want to check the fuse box in the engine compartment.....will be found next to the battery......think its fuse 14.....and if it has blown, its probably caused by the screen washer pump freezing......so go get some screen wash additive to reduce the chance of it happening again.....let us know how you get on.....Merry Xmas Quote
kfk Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 it isnt specific to citroen........worth a visit to halfords or your local petrol staion may have a selection of fuses........best thing is remove fuse 14 and look through the clear plastic to see if the fuse is broken.....then take it in to compare it for size......most car accessorie places should be able to help you if you put it on the counter and say ' i want one of these.......does it look blown to you'? Dont swap fuses around in the fuse box as all of them are needed for something and could cause you bigger problems if you get them back in the wrong places Quote
