Stephanie Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Hi, I wonder if anyone can help - I have a 52 plate C5 HDI saloon (mine since October last year), and just recently a warning/information (?) light has been appearing adjacent to the multi finction display screen, on the right and just to the right of the oblong button with the tick symbol to confirm changes to the display info/time etc. It sometimes starts off red and then goes green and then eventually goes out or just starts off green and then eventually goes out. It has happened 4 or 5 times but is getting more frequent. I can find no mention of this light in the user manual. There are no other warning lights coming on at the same time. Does anyone have any idea what it is for and what it is trying to tell me? Thanks, in advance, in hope of somehelp! Stephanie Quote

Does anyone have any idea what it is for and what it is trying to tell me? Does this only happen on motorways or major A roads? Sounds like Traffic Master to me. Have you had the car from new? Did you ask for it? On the right hand side of the steering wheel, just below the air vent is there a button marked TM? If so, press it once. It should say "Traffic Master". If you want to shut it up, keep pressing the button twice in quick succession until it says "Manual Mode". Quote

Guest Gra Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I know I may sound a bit patronising - but are you sure this isn't the suspension level indicator?I only ask because I once had my normal green light change to red mid drive and found that a water bottle that I had placed in the small container thing between the front seats, had tipped forward and settled on the ride height adjustment control and the car had changed its hydropneumatic thingy. If it changes colour as you drive along, is there something just resting on the control? Hope that helps. Gra Quote
daffy4895 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 as per the other reply its your traffic master light Quote

henshaw Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 This is the traffic master light. It'll change to green when you approach or pass one of their transmitters (they used to be blue but may also be green). The "spoken" output can be turned off (as yours probably has if it doesn't make a sound), but it'll still respond to the transmitters. There is an elongated oval button below and to the right of the steering wheel which sets the modes of operation. Quote

Thanks - the Traffic Master licence has expired but I must have pushed the button to trigger the light coming on. I can go and sort it out now and not worry that things are about to break down. Thanks for the tip about the suspension level light too - I'll watch out for that. Stef :) Quote
myglaren Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Why is this always at the top of the list and why doesn't the 'unread posts' flag go out after it is read?Even the 'mark this forum read' command doesn't work on it. ETA:This post appears to have cured it. Quote
smokescreen Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Probably as it's been misdated as 23rd February it stays at the top. Quote

Stef :)On my 2001 Y C5 SX, the red/green LED on the right of the multi function display is solely to do with the traffic master system. I can't speak for younger models where this might have an alternative use Quote
