john hannon Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Hi all. I've just bought (earlier this week) a 2005 2.0HDI Exclusive Estate. I paid £4300 at the auctions. Its a facelifted model and has been owned by Automotive Leasing from new. (A subsidery of Citroen I believe looking at the address in Slough) It has done 118,000 miles, drives like new (superb engine) and the Hurricane Grey paintwork is in excellent order. If it had been "clocked" to say 50,000 I would believe the mileage to be genuine. As with all ex lease cars I have bought there is a full service print out. June 2005 at 19540 miles a service £160Nov 2005 at 39248 miles a service £263April 2006 at 57604 miles a service £178Sept 2006 at 77950 miles a service £543March 2007 at 97910 miles a service £357Dec 2007 at 115211 miles a service at £1021 (includes £215 for "electrical charging sysyem) I presume that this service included the cam belt? Am I correct in assuming this? All carried out at Citroen Garages. In addition to this £1604 has been spent at various Kwik-Fits on tyres. The only other expense being June 2007 at 101300 miles £153 on the exhaust. My only expense has been fitting a near side fog light. It sailed through the MOT, no advisory issued, the inspector told me that it was in fantastic condition, I did breath a sigh of relief. He did point out that the tyres were only good for about 5 to 10 thousand miles. My only problem is with the drivers window. Put it down say five times, goes back up no problem, put it down a sixth time and it will only raise two inches, you have to raise it bit by bit. Any ideas? Hope the info is of use. Been looking at the Forum for a few weeks, was doubtfull about buying a C5, however the passion I see for the car on here led to my purchase. Did I get a good buy? Regards all John Quote
Randombloke Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 March 2007 at 97910 miles a service £357Dec 2007 at 115211 miles a service at £1021 (includes £215 for "electrical charging sysyem) I presume that this service included the cam belt? Am I correct in assuming this? I'm not sure about Phase 2 C5 but I know Phase 1 should have the belt done at 100,000 but this would not be covered by £357. Does your car have a DPF (particular filter?) If so, that and the belt may have been changed at 115k, but if in doubt phone the garage that did the service. Sounds like a very good price for the car, and is the best of all the C5s with regard to power/economy compromise IMV. Quote
john hannon Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 I have phoned Lease Plan in Slough, good news. The 97910 mile service included a cam belt change, the 115211 service included a particle filter. Car running great, averaging 47mpg, windows still not correct..........any ideas. Regards JohnHi all.
