The window motor is fine but both passenger and driver side switches dont activate the window motor. I have heard slight movement on the down press but then stops. I assume the relay is the same for both windows passenger and driver ( drivers works) Manual says there is a re-energising relay?

Any ideas?

Hi There. Had a look at the wiring diagram and can't see what the problem could be. If the drivers window is working then all the relays would seem to be operating as they should. Try removing the plug from the passenger widow motor and make sure you have 12 V coming to the motor (In both directions) from both switches. If you do then it MUST be the motor itself. I can't see how one would work and the other not as they're both supplied from the same source and via the same relays.

You could also try a 12v supply straight from the battery or an independant 12v supply to the motor plug (Make one up with a couple of croc clips and terminals like on a meter) and see if it moves up or down as you change the wires round by touching them on the plug first one way then the other. Do this with the motor disconnected from the loom.

If you're not getting 12v to the motor then suspect dirty contacts in the switches or in a wiring loom connector. Check through the system from place to place with your meter till you find the volts drop.

Cheers Hope this helps. :D

Switches are no. 1 cause for such problems. Do as colin suggested (12 volts to engine for checking).

Then try to clean the contacts, contact spray may be helpful.

Disconnect the plug/socket in on the front edge of the door. If there is any corrosion there you need to clean it (I used Viakal - soak for ten mins, rinse and dry thoroughly. Bit of Vaseline will prevent it happening again.
