downsman Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 It seems to me that this forum has become rather negative lately. We all own C1s and assuming we chose our cars, there must be some good points about them or we'd be fools to buy them! Some of the best features about my car:1. Engine sounds great, and pulls amazingly well for a 1litre.2. Fuel consumption is very good, and filling up is cheaper than other cars I've owned.3. Amazing grip from such small tyres, and so far I've found the handling safe but fun.4. Comfortably seats four (i'm 6 foot and I'm OK in the back), and it's easy to get in the back with the 5 door.5. All the controls including gearchange, brakes, and steering are all smooth to operate without lost motion. What about yours? Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Well I was talking to the Service Manager at my local Citroen Dealer and he said if had a choice of a C1 or a C6 he would pick a C1 as its a good solid well built little car. Quote
ColinC1 Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I agree with all you say, it is a very modern looking car that runs well, and if you need a newer economy car, its the one to go for  As for the negative stuff, well most people are going to write about their faults to get answers from other C1 owners, who have most likely encontered similar problems. That is the nature of car forums. Quote
Martin_1973_uk Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 You should see the things they say about the C2, now that is negative. Would put you off for life. The C1 is a great car but it is good to be able to come on here and discuss problems...... Quote
deeyup Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 My favourite thing about this car is the running costs. Sure it's good fun to drive, but thats just a bonus on the cheapness of running.I've just renewed my insurance for £129 fully comp with £100 cashback.£29 for a years insurance!! Amazing! That on top of £35 tax, and 50mpg, £35tyres. It must be the cheapest car on the road. Quote

ColinC1 Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 I think you really like your new car, how about a picture of your lovely car (remember to blank your numberplate). PS... This forum has the most unusual habit of giving you the prevous writers quote every time, so you are better to delete it first, then write your message, otherwise you get a load of unwanted quotes. Martin_1973_uk Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 How do you manage 110MPH when the book states top speed as 98MPH, better get that speedo checked out? Quote
downsman Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 110mph may be due to speedo error, or could be easily achievable downhill with a tail wind :( I saw almost 80mph in my 2CV in those conditions! Quote
kfk Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 I saw almost 80mph in my 2CV in those conditions! I think i would have been worried about the bonnet flying up ....not to mention the foldup windows acting as wings.....scary Quote
