Sailinglsc Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Has anyone any advice on the instance of the STOP and temperature dashboard light flickering and coming and going. This happened also a year or so ago, sorted itself for months and has now recurred. Temperature gauge normal, water level normal, oil level normal and oil clear. 1997/8 XM SX 16v (estate) Quote
Johndouglas Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 By long-departed BXTZD used to do that. It was because of a touch of corrosion on the terminal connecting to the temperature sender on the thermostat housing. I found if I pulled it off/on a few times, I had no more bother for months. Quote

JohnMany thanks. I tried that. It turned out to be a slight leak from one of the LHM pipes which dropped the fluid level. Topping up with LHM did the trick. Lesson learned and repair no very necessary. Thanks again Quote
