Robin Hood Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Hello all. Purchased a C1 last week. The car is just over a year old but there are a couple of problems. The exhaust seems like it is blowing. Citroen have told me it is not blowing, and informed me there is a modification to secure the exhaust to stop the noise under warranty. I have heard other readers say they have experienced problems with loose baffles. Can anyone confirm, or have any other owners experienced the same? In addition, am I correct by saying that all Citroen exhausts are covered by the 3 year warranty? If so, any literature to support this would be greatly appreciated. I also have a very squeaky drivers seat. Is this a known problem too? Apart from that I am delighted. Your help is much appreciated. Quote
kfk Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 It maybe that your car does have a noisy exhaust, its also possible that if you have a petrol model its just making a different exhaust note due to having a 3 cylinder engine. As far as the exhaust is concerned it may be covered by the 3 year warranty subject to it being a manufacturing defect and not wear and tear/corrosion. Not aware of any specific squeaky seat problems. Quote
Martin_1973_uk Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 The squeek on the seat could be the seat belt holder. Try moving it forward slightly and see if the noise continues. I've got so many squeeks and rattles in my car I've given up trying to cure them. Exhaust wise the car just sounds that way. I find it sporting sounding. The 3 cylinder thing is a myth. My last car was a 3 cylinder Dihatsu and that sounded like a normal car. Hope this helps. Quote
