owlscastle Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 It looks like the cambelt has failed on my 2.0hdi. Does anyone know if it likely to have bent valves, damaged the head etc , or could it possibly escape if I just change the belt? Thanks Quote
iannez Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 done a few hdi's where the rockers have broken and the valves have been ok so you might be lucky but most of the time there is valve damage as kev says. Quote

tenwierdufos Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 i heard that on the HDI's then valves dont move far enough to touch the top of the cylinder which would mean no damage. Is that right or just tales? Quote
