bruckshaw Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 I need to remove the rear bumper of my 2007 C5. Can someone guide me through the steps please? Quote
Ronin Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 I'm sorry m8 but i haven't done it yet although i'm pretty sure it is quite an easy affair. Have a look around this C5 section and you will find a post about "bumpers". If I remember correctly you have to remove the black plastic bump strip and the securing points are behind there, I could be wrong though m8. Sorry I can't help you beyond that. Quote
Johndouglas Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I need to remove the rear bumper of my 2007 C5. Can we ask why? Quote
bruckshaw Posted June 1, 2008 Author Posted June 1, 2008 Can we ask why?Yes . The answer is really quite simple. I want to fit an existing Taurus 123 electomagnetic reversing system to the car.The reason I want to fit this rather than the standard 4 sensor kit is that I have a tow bar fitted and that interferes with the operation of a standard kit. I have fitted the sensor strip at the level of the existing holes in the rear bumper but that is too low for the electromagnetic system which needs to be about 50cm from the ground. In fact I have already fitted the system to the car but because I have not been able to remove the bumper I have had to try to reach up from under the bumper and skirt. This gives a temporary installation. I really need to remove the bumper to do the job properly. I know how to remove the rear light clusters and the outside fixings but the rest of it is unknown territory. Quote
Johndouglas Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Saloons and estates have different methods of fixing - so says the French Revue Technique. Tell me what you've got and I'll see if I can translate. Quote
